Marvel Studios has released the second trailer for the highly-anticipated Captain Marvel, which teases more of Carol Danvers' (Brie Larson) incredible powers.

The trailer also offers a bit of insight into the Kree-Skrull war, a major event in the Marvel Comics that will unfold in this superhero adventure, set in the year 1995.

This new footage also offers the first look at Carol's adorable cat Goose, named after Anthony Edwards' Top Gun character.

The trailer begins with Carol Danvers, in her green Captain Marvel costume, cautiously walking through a subway car, intercut with a conversation between Danvers and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).

'So, Skrulls are the bad guys,' Fury says, as Danvers glances at the subway car's patrons.

When Danvers spots what seems to be a smiling old lady, she greets her with a punch to the face, as this Skrull in disguise attacks in ways most old ladies can't.

Fury then adds that Danvers herself is one of the Kree, 'a race of noble warriors,' which Danvers corrects by saying, 'noble warrior heroes.'

Danvers is then seen walking with some of her fellow Kree heroes, and it's clear that this Earthling is not like others.

The trailer then features Annette Bening's character, Danvers' Kree mother, who reveals that Carol's real life began almost as it ended.

There are shots of Carol's crashed Air Force plane, with Carol lying on the ground, as Bening's character adds that they found her with no memory of her past life.

'We made you one of us, so you could live longer, stronger, superior. You were reborn,' Bening says.'

The trailer also features a first look at Captain Marvel's iconic mohawk from the comics, while teasing that Carol's past on Earth holds the key to this entire conflict.

The footage  features a number of flashback shots to her time on Earth, along with her Air Force pilot friend Maria 'Photon' Rambeau (Lashanna Lynch).

There are also scenes where Danvers gets a peek at her file, with photos of her past life as a pilot, telling Fury that she, 'had a life here.'

Jude Law's Walter Lawson, a.k.a. Mar-Vell, is also featured in the trailer, telling Danvers that she has come a long way, but she's not as strong as she thinks.

The trailer ends with a number of shots showcasing the true power that Captain Marvel can harness and unleash upon her enemies.

'I'm not gonna fight your war, I'm gonna finish it,' Danvers says as the trailer comes to an end with footage of Danvers in full Captain Marvel costume taking flight, but on her own, without the help of a plane.

The final shot of the trailer features Fury marveling over how cute Carol's cat Goose is.

Captain Marvel will hit theaters March 8, 2019, with Marvel's highly-anticipated Avengers 4 hitting theaters just a few months later on May 3, 2019.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
