«Breaking News» Trump touts all the work he'll be doing at Mar-a-Lago, one of his favorite places to play golf

President Donald Trump vowed he'd be working hard at his Florida estate Mar-a-Lago this week but the Florida property is also one of his favorite locations to play golf.

'We're going now to the southern White House,' Trump told reporters as he departed 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue on Tuesday.

'We have a lot of work we're going to be doing in Florida,' he added.

The Trump clan typically spends the week of Thanksgiving ensconced in the billionaire president’s private club in Palm Beach, and this year was looking to be a repeat of past practice.

When Trump left on Tuesday he was joined by first lady Melania Trump, his son Barron and daughters Tiffany and Ivanka for the ride on Air Force One.

It's unclear if his sons Donald Jr. and Eric - who are based in New York - will be there.

Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law, and the three children he shares with Ivanka were not traveling on Tuesday to Florida with the rest of the first family even though they had been at the White House for a traditional turkey pardoning earlier in the day.

The president, his wife, and children boarded the presidential plane together in Washington, where it was a crisp 50 degrees following a Monday snowstorm.

Highs of about 80 degrees are expected in Florida over the holiday.

The first family boarded Marine One with coats but had ditched them by the time they deplaned in West Palm Beach.

Golf has been a steady presence in the president's down time.

Nearly every day over previous breaks, the president has left Mar-A-Lago early in the day to travel by motorcade to Trump National Golf Club.

The private course is not visible from the road, save for one hole where CNN has repeatedly captured Trump driving around in a golf cart on days when the White House refused to confirm the president was playing.

He has returned to Mar-a-Lago on those occasions late in the afternoon for dinner with his family, supporters, club members and politicians that are closed to press, although he has not always been able to prevent photos from landing on social media.

Trump, through his Trump Organization, runs 17 different golf courses around the country, including two near Mar-a-Lago.

Last year, he spent his first full day of his Thanksgiving trip at his Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach. And he spent part of Thanksgiving Day there.

But he and first lady Melania Trump also spent part of the holiday visiting a Coast Guard station and handing out sandwiches.

The season at Mar-a-Lago begins annually at the end of October, but Trump is taking his first trip there this year closer to the end of November. He spent weekends in the lead-up to mid-term elections campaigning, and the days afterward attending events commemorating the armistice in World War I in Paris.

Last year, the first family spent so many weekends on the property that it was dubbed the ‘Winter White House,’ a nickname that even the president has adopted. He has also referred to Florida as his adopted home.

As of October, Trump has played golf 159 times since becoming president - mostly at his properties in Florida; Bedminister, New Jersey; or near Sterling, Virginia - according to Golf News Net.

The White House is sensitive about the president's golf playing and takes pains to emphasize he's in meetings and on calls when he's at one of his properties at Mar-a-Lago or Bedminister.

Trump has used his Florida estate as part of his presidency.

He's hosted foreign leaders at Mar-A-Lago such as President Xi Jinping of China and Prime Minister Shinzō Abe of Japan.

He and Abe also got in a round of golf at their April meeting.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
