Idaho high school students walked out of class on Tuesday to protest a visit from Ivanka Trump and Apple CEO Tim Cook, it has been revealed.
Cook and Donald Trump's daughter visited an elementary school in the low-income Idaho district of Wilder, where Apple donated an iPad to every student and teacher in 2016.
But a group of students at the high school next door were less than impressed with the donations.
Students complained that the iPads offer self-guided lessons that have almost completely eliminated their interaction with teachers.

The only time they do interact with their educators is when it's time to unlock quizzes and advance to the next learning sections, the students said.
Shortly after Apple's donation to the Wilder School District in 2016, Superintendent Jeff Dillon said it would help students 'own their learning'.
'We are going to shift from traditional education, where teachers own the learning, where the teacher does the thinking and students consume information,' he told the Idaho Statesman.
Dillon said the district wanted an education system based on a 'mastery of subjects' rather than 'hours spent in a classroom'.
'The plan will do away with regular class periods as students use their devices to guide their education and teachers become more like mentors,' he added.
Wilder School District was recently named one of the most innovative school systems in the country.

About 30 people also gathered outside the school to protest Trump's immigration policies
The protesters mixed with about a dozen Trump supporters (pictured), who could be heard chanting 'We love Trump!'
Ivanka, who arrived at Wilder Elementary with Cook around 10.15am, took to Twitter to discuss her visit.
'Visiting the Wilder School District today with Tim Cook to learn firsthand how they are preparing America’s future workforce using @Apple technology to transform the learning environment and personalize students' educational experiences based on their unique needs and strengths!' she tweeted.
Dillon told parents that Ivanka and Cook would visit with students to 'learn more about how our district uses technology to enhance student learning and support our personalized learning model'.
Wilder, one of southwestern Idaho's poorest, was among 114 low-income schools in 29 states to receive iPad donations from Apple as part of its ConnectED program.
Apple worked with districts where the low-income student population was at least 96 percent.

Virtually all of the city's elementary students meet low income guidelines to receive free or reduced cost lunches and a majority of the district's students are Hispanic.
Wilder has a population of less than 2,000 and has been largely Hispanic for decades.
Many residents work seasonal jobs harvesting onions and other crops, and others have full-time jobs at a meat processing plant.
The students, who said they expected to be suspended, weren't the only ones protesting Ivanka's visit.

About 30 people also gathered outside the school to protest Trump's immigration policies.
Trump has deployed thousands of troops to the Mexican border, saying a caravan of migrants is a threat to US national security.
Mothers with their children were among those who were hit by tear gas at the border on Sunday.
'When babies at the border are under attack, what do we do?' protester Estefania Mondragon asked a crowd of about 30 people.
'Stand up, fight back!' they responded. They also screamed 'stop gassing babies!'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
