Prince Charles was seen enjoying a tipple as he hosted a reception at St James's Palace today, following his 70th birthday celebrations last week.

The royal appeared to be sipping a glass of wine at the event, while guests enjoyed tea and cake.

The reception was being held to mark the 80th anniversary of the Kindertransport, which brought some 10,000 mostly Jewish children aged between three to 17 to safety in the lead up to the Second World War.

Children arrived in the UK from Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia and Poland as part of the organised rescue effort.

Charles has long been a supporter of the Association of Jewish Refugees, previously hosting a similar reception at Clarence House to mark the 75th anniversary of Kindertransport.

The royal is back to work today following a series of celebrations marking his landmark birthday.

A host of distinguished guests, including European royals, attended a glitzy dinner at Buckingham Palace by the Queen on Wednesday in honour of Charles turning 70.

The Queen gave a warm tribute to her eldest son in her toast, speaking  of what a 'privilege' it was for her, as a mother, to honour him on such a momentous occasion.

Raising a glass at the black tie dinner, the 92-year-old monarch said: 'It is a privilege for any mother to be able to propose a toast to her son on his 70th birthday.

'It means that you have lived long enough to see your child grow up. It is rather like - to use an analogy I am certain will find favour — planting a tree and being able to watch it grow.'

A series of family portraits, taken in the gardens of Clarence House in September, have been released to mark Charles' 70th birthday.

Newly released snaps shared over the weekend include a sweet photograph of cradling grandson Prince Louis.

You might recognise the Alessandra Rich dress that the Duchess of Cambridge is wearing in this adorable family photo, and it's not because Kate has been recycling her outfits again.

Suits star Abigail Spencer wore this very same style to attend the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding back in May this year, and we heard a lot of people say it was their favourite dress of the day (apart from Meghan's of course!).

We love the vintage-inspired contrast collar and cuffs on this dress, which is typical of the Alessandra Rich atheistic. Polka dots are a huge trend right now, and you really can't go wrong with classic navy and white, right? Oh we can't forget to mention quite how flattering the pleated skirt is.

Sadly this exact midi has now sold out, but click (right) to buy something similar by the label, or check out the best of the rest below.

This Zara dress is spot on!

The royal a...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
