«Breaking News» Nearly 2,000 sex offenders have avoided jail over three years after being made to ‘apologise’

More than 1,800 sex offenders have avoided prosecution simply by saying sorry or shaking hands with their victim.

Rapists, paedophiles and molesters were among those who were dealt with using out-of-court ‘community resolutions’ – often a promise not to repeat the crime or the offer of compensation.

Police and prosecutors are using restorative justice, which involves victims meeting offenders face-to-face, to settle serious sex cases.

Supporters of the initiative, only meant to be used for low-level crime, claim it is a fairer way to deal with offenders while still giving ‘closure’.

But critics say it provides fresh evidence of soft justice. Unlike a caution, a community resolution does not lead to a criminal record.

Figures from the Ministry of Justice show the measure has been used to deal with sex crimes 1,871 times since 2015. 

It was used at least twice last year to deal with child rape.

The Centre For Crime Prevention said the measure should never be used in this way and that the MoJ must act to ensure sex attackers are jailed. 

A Government spokesman said the proportion of sex offenders being imprisoned had risen since 2010.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
