A shiny gold Smart Car car is the latest addition to a fleet of gilded motors which have been seen parked outside a five star hotel.
Supercar-spotters have seen a similar-looking cavalcade in the capital in previous years - they are not exactly hard to spot - and including two Rolls Royces, a McLaren, a Lamborghini and a Ferrari.
This year though for the first time a tiny Smart has joined its shiny stablemates, spotted parked outside the exclusive Park Lane hotel The Dorchester today earlier.

How does a billionaire park in central London's tight spaces? In a golden Smart Car, of course

The Smart was spotted with its shiny stablemates (from left to right) a Lamborghini, a Ferrari, a Rolls Royce and a McLaren outside The Dorchester in Park Lane earlier today
Also seemingly new - if these are indeed the same gilded automobiles - are the British licence plates.
Gold supercars in London have caused problems for the authorities in recent years by parking on double-yellow lines without registration plates against which London boroughs could issue fines.
Another change from photographs of a golden fleet seen in London in previous years is the four-colour stripe on each car.

Even on Park Lane it isn't every day you can photograph one Rolls Royce over the bonnet of another, but rarer still that they should both be bright reflective gold

From its lines this supercar looks to be a Lamborghini Aventador. In previous years Saudi billionaire Turki Bin Abdullah has been photographed with a bright gold Lamborghini Huracan but the deep vents at either side of this vehicle (pictured) are not present on a Huracan
The green, yellow, black and red insignia runs from bumper to bumper down the centre of each vehicle. Its meaning is a mystery, for the time being, and it does not seem to correspond with any national flag.
It all begs the question: is there more than one proud owner of auric autos in central London?
One strong candidate for ownership is certainly young billionaire Turki Bin Adbullah.
Mr Bin Abdullah has regularly been seen, from London to Dubai, in his gold supercars which include many almost indistinguishable from today's photographs apart from the coloured stripes.
Since arriving in London in March 2016 the Saudi billionaire, now 25, has made headlines an extravagant - and some say gaudy - display of wealth which includes:
- a custom £350,000 Aventador,
- a £370,000 six-wheeler Mercedes AMG off-roader,
- a £350,000 Rolls Phantom Coupe,
- a £220,000 Bentley Flying Spur
- and a £180,000 Lamborghini Huracan
They are all painted a uniform shade of gold and imported from the Middle East.
His exploits, much-publicised online, have included racing a camel across the desert in a gold supercar and strapping a cheetah into the driving seat of another.
But perhaps this fleet - all of which feature the multicoloured stripe, and including the Smart and a Lamborghini which is not a Huracan - means there is a new golden boy in town.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
