«Breaking News» Ayr hospital stabbing: Knifeman on loose after nurse stabbed

An NHS hospital was today placed in 'lockdown' amid claims that a nurse had been stabbed by a knifeman in its grounds.

Staff at Ailsa Hospital in North Ayrshire, Scotland, were told to stay in their rooms, while a police helicopter circulated overhead.

The nurse was attacked in the grounds of the hospital near Ayr just after 10am, and was taken for medical treatment.

Police were today hunting for the culprit and no one was allowed out of the site, which was on lockdown.

A Police Scotland spokesman said enquiries were ongoing, adding: 'Police received a report (at 10.05am) that a woman had been attacked in the grounds of the hospital.

'Emergency services are in attendance and local officers are being supported by a police helicopter and are currently conducting a search of the area.'

A hospital source said: 'We got a message saying the hospital is in lockdown and not to leave our rooms as there's been a stabbing. The helicopter is out overhead. It doesn't seem real.' 

Billy McClean, associate director for the health board, added: 'NHS Ayrshire and Arran is aware of an incident in the grounds of Ailsa Hospital this morning.

'We are assisting Police Scotland with their investigations, and to ensure the safety of staff, patients and visitors.'

A hospital spokesman added: 'Due to an incident on the grounds of Ailsa Hospital earlier today, Ailsa Hospital and University Hospital Ayr campus are on full lockdown.

'No members of staff, patients or visitors will be able to leave the sites until advised.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
