«Breaking News» Three MILLION pay-TV subscribers have stopped their service in 2018

Pay-TV companies lost nearly 3million video subscribers in 2018, nearly double the loss of subscribers in 2017.

According to new research, pay-TV companies lost a whopping 2.9million customers as more viewers are going without pay-TV altogether, opting for lower-cost services like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime.

DirecTV and Dish Network suffered the largest losses, losing a collective 2.36million in 2018, according to research by Leichtman Research Group which studies about 95 percent of the market.

The loss of the two networks is up from the 1.55million subscribers they lost in 2017, according to Deadline.

According to research group president Bruce Leichtman, the number of pay-TV customers peaked in 2012. Since then net pay-TV losses have totaled at about 10 million.

However that's been offset by growth in the internet-delivered 'skinny' TV packages'.

Skinny bundles for DirecTV and Sling TV yieleded six-figure suscriber gains for 2018 and now boast more than four million suscribers together.,

But that rate of growth has significantly slowed from 90 percent in 2017 to 19 percent in 2018.

Now alternative companies offer their own skinny bundles such as YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV and PlayStation Vue. They don't publicly report their subscriber numbers as their pay-TV counterparts do so it's not clear where they stand.

According to estimates by Wall Street analysts and other reports, total U.S. skinny bundles (shared between DirectTV, SlingTV, and the online alternatives) have between seven million and eight million subscribers.

Still that means less than 10 percent of the 89.1million paying-TV homes in the U.S are skinny bundle customers.

According to Deadline, the last time the pool of pay-TV customers was this small was in 2007.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
