«Breaking News» Paraguayan teenager enjoys the fame of being named after Optimus Prime, the Transformers character

A teenager from Paraguay has a name which transforms him into a real-life superhero - Optimus Prime. 

Optimosprayn Ismael Meza, 19, which translates from Spanish to Optimus Prime, was named after the character from the Transformers cartoon because his father Victor Meza loved watching the show. 

Optimosprayn said that growing up proved difficult for him as he was often ridiculed and bullied for his name.  

'When I was a kid I was kicked out of class on my first day in sixth grade because the teacher thought I was the class clown,' Optimosprayn told DailyMail.com.

'She told me that I was lying and that it wasn't my name,' he added.

The 19-year-old college student usually has to show his government issued identification card any time someone doubts his name 

The Paraguayan young man's father is a big fan of the Transformer's cartoon series. It was his dream to name his son after Optimus Prime (pictured) 

He said teachers who didn't know him reprimanded him and students laughed.

His mother Yolanda Meza was not keen on giving him the character's name at first. He father Victor said: 'His mother found it a little ridiculous.'

Yolanda was huge fan of Puerto Rican pop star Chayanne and wanted to name her son after the singer.  

But Victor persisted and eventually she agreed to the unique moniker and now she loves the name.

She even supported him in getting a tattoo on his neck of the Autobots logo.

Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots - the extraterrestrial robotic life form in the hit cartoon. 

He revealed he now carries his identification card with him at all times to prove to people that it is his real name. 

Optimosprayn, who is now at college, said: 'I have got used to people making jokes. The comments that are bad I just listen and laugh at now. And there are some that are funny. If you're not going to laugh, it's a lost day.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
