Sex Pistols star John Lydon claimed Keith Flint's death was a result of him being 'destroyed by being alone' as he called for industry-wide change.

Lyndon, once known as Johnny Rotten, said far too often musicians are left alone, as he called Prodigy frontman Keith Flint 'unloved'.

Speaking at the premiere of the 'Punk' docuseries at Hollywood's SIR Studios, the 63-year-old said changes are needed after Flint was found dead on Monday.

He told TMZ: 'My heart is broken for him. He was a good friend of mine. Don't get me wrong but nobody loved him and he was left alone and he got destroyed.

'Why? Why do so many people in this industry be left alone? Come to me, I'm Johnny.

'What you got to understand is we are not looking after each other anymore and we should.

'Any of you out there need help, come talk to me. We do not need to die.'

Flint, 49, was found hanged at his farmhouse in Dunmow, Essex, on Monday morning.

Pictures shared with MailOnline show hours later the singer and dancer was casually dressed, eating with his personal trainer at the Galvin Green Man in Chelmsford on Saturday.

The 'Firestarter' star was seated comfortably by the pub's log fire, prompting jokes with locals on Saturday - but less than 36 hours later police found him unresponsive at his home. Band mates said he had taken his own life

He was seen joking with other diners as he bought lunch for himself and his trainer.

He even asked permission to take a few bottles of beer and cider home with him afterwards, it was claimed.

He was sat next to an unlit fire, prompting the photographer to initially joke about whether he was going to be a Firestarter again as he sang in his 1990s hit which made Prodigy a household name.

However, he was battling personal demons.

It is claimed he had begged his estranged wife Mayumi Kai, 31, to come home days before he died, in the days leading up to his death.

A source told The Sun: 'Keith always hoped they could make it work and he made various phone calls to her, pleading with her.

'But she didn't change her mind and insisted they sell the house. It broke Keith. Mayumi isn't to blame but it seems that Keith didn't think he could carry on without her.'

His band mates later revealed he had ended his own life, three years after he stated in an interview that he 'wasn't saving up for anything' and said: 'When I'm done, I'll kill myself'.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
