«Breaking News» Sisters fake 'self-marriage ceremony' as a joke to get on their grandma's esteemed photo wall

Three sisters from Brisbane, Australia staged a fake 'self-marriage ceremony' in order to get on their grandmother's esteemed family photo wall.

Lucy, Rosie and Claudia Ivers were the only ones not featured on the wall, as they were yet to get married, and had no intention to.

As a joke, the sisters held a fake 'self-marriage ceremony' on November 10 last year, at Lucy's apartment rooftop, with the total cost coming to $200.

Twelve guests witnessed the ceremony, and they happily dined on boxes of Domino's Pizza and sipped glasses of rosé.

Sisters Lucy, 33, Rosie, 29, and Claudia, 26, took part in the $200 'self-marriage ceremony' in order to feature on their grandmother's photo wall.

The girls wanted to prove that you don't need a man or a huge budget to have a picture-perfect wedding.

The sisters purchased dresses from community website Gumtree for just $30 each, and posed for photos on the rooftop of Lucy's apartment.

Astin, a friend of the family, acted as celebrant, and due to the sisters having no interest in getting married, they found the whole ceremony to be just a bit of fun.

'We bought dresses off Gumtree for about $30 each, and decided since it's unlikely we'll ever actually get married for real, we may as well do it right,' Lucy said.

'The best part was that our friends just dressed up, came along and fully participated in the whole charade - no questions asked,' she said.

'They treated it with the same level of enthusiasm that you would any wedding. We never expected it to be such a wonderful day. I actually can't imagine that I could possibly have had any more fun if it were a real wedding.'

Lucy explained how she and her sisters aren't sold on the concept of marriage.

'I'm not sold on the institution of marriage. I'm not concerned that it's my last chance to get married. I'm rather disinterested in marriage itself,' she said.

'I think it's outdated, and the divorce statistics alone indicate that the promise of forever is not particularly natural or healthy.'

Lucy added that their grandmother is not fussed as to whether or not they eventually tie the knot legally.

'Nana doesn't mind if we get married or not. The sole purpose of this was to make a joke about what it takes to get up on her photo wall. She loved the photos and found it particularly funny, the lengths we went to,' she said.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
