A mother who's raising her baby son on a vegan diet has been slammed by Good Morning Britain viewers as 'cruel'.
Jess Pourasghar appeared on the daytime television show to discuss whether parents should be allowed to 'impose' a diet on their children.
She told presenter Susannah Reid that she hopes to keep her 11-month-old son on a vegan diet until he at least 18 and would stop him eating meat if he wanted to, something that left some viewers condemning her as 'cruel'.
Jess Pourasghar appeared on Good Morning Britain to debate whether you should 'impose' a vegan diet on babies and children. She's raising her own son, 11 months, to not eat meat and dairy products
The little boy was pictured off set with his father; the family say they are compassionate animal lovers and they want to raise their child that way, intending to feed him vegan food until he's 18
Jess also revealed that she'd be disappointed if her son told her at the age of five that he wanted to eat meat. The little boy was pictured off set with his father.
She told the panel: 'Well I’d be disappointed obviously, I would tell him the truth about where it comes from.
'We’re going to be raising him to know exactly where it comes from and I’m not going to be showing him slaughter house videos obviously.
'The fact that you wouldn’t show a child a slaughter house video shows how violent and horrific it is.'
When Susannah asked if the mother would let her eat meat at the age of five he asked to, she replied: 'I'd stop him because it’s still my choice to raise him at that age and every parent would make their decisions for him.'
On social media, people quickly added their own thoughts, with many saying they disagreed with Pourasghar.

Disappointed: The mother said she wouldn't let her son watch slaughter house videos but she would be honest about where meat comes from
When Susannah Reid grilled Pourasghar on how she'd feel if her son wanted to eat meat at the age of five, the mother replied, she would 'stop' him from doing so
The baby pictured with his father; many said Pourasghar and her partner should wait until he can make his own decision on the diet he wants
Others argued that whatever you feed children you're 'imposing' your views on them...with one viewer saying: 'How about we have a positive spin on veganism for a change from @GMB?'
@dgault26: 'It should be a criminal offence to force a food diet type onto a baby or child who needs the goodness that food can give to them.'
@deborahlewis10 argued: 'Are you not imposing your views on a child either way?'
And @MichDuq agreed, writing: 'Babies are naturally vegan , they have their mothers breast milk ( as should be the right of all baby mammals !) There ante many resources for successfully raising young children on a vegan diet. how about we have a positive spin on veganism for a change from @GMB?'
@elwell_alan wrote: 'If they want there babies to be vegan that’s up them.'
Pourasghar defended the decision to offer a vegan diet, saying: 'We want to bring our children up to be compassionate, we want to bring them up to be kind to animals, everyone wants their children to be kind to animals.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
