Elon Musk's girlfriend Grimes has described the Tesla boss as a 'super-interesting goddamn person' as she revealed she is ditching her name and would now like to be called 'c'.

In an interview with the WSJ Magazine, the 31-year-old musician opened up about her year-long relationship with the 47-year-old Tesla and SpaceX CEO.

When first questioned about Musk during the interview, Grimes - who was born Claire Boucher - was said to have nearly collapsed and groaned loudly.

'Don't tell him I groaned just now. I groaned out of, I don't know, feminism,' she said.

'I mean, he's a super-interesting goddamn person.'

The couple, who made their relationship public when they attended the 2018 MET Gala together, got together after exchanging messages on Twitter. 

The Canadian singer said she wasn't prepared for the publicity their relationship generated.

'I was simply unprepared. I've just been wallowing in indie music for, like, a decade... I just thought I could keep going along in my funny little way, and then you casually respond to someone in a tweet and it's on Fox News, and you're like, Ugh, you know? That was a very disturbing moment,' she said.

The tweet Grimes referred to, which was one she later deleted, was in response to claims Musk had tried to stop a union at Tesla. 

'I was like, 'Oh, I can never tweet about… I need to watch who I f***ing retweet,' she said.  

Despite the attention surrounding their relationship, Grimes went on to say that she still loves the Tesla boss.    

'Look, I love him. He's great. There's got to be some reason. I just think... I wish… Yeah. It doesn't matter.'

Musk responded to the magazine in an email, saying: 'I love c's wild fae artistic creativity and hyper intense work ethic.'

Their relationship made headlines in September last year after Musk was sued by the SEC for tweeting that he was taking Tesla private for $420-a-share - a move that regulators dubbed fraudulent and misleading.  

After the privatization scandal, rapper Azaelia Banks claimed to have been in Musk's home when he posted the tweet. Banks, who said she was there to record a duet with Grimes, alleged that Musk was high on drugs at the time. 

Musk went on to settle with the SEC by stepping down as the company's chairman and agreeing, along with Tesla, to pay $20 million each in fines.   

His name was brought up again in court this week as the SEC doubled down on the government's demand to find the Tesla CEO in contempt of the previous fraud settlement.

The settlement required Musk to have the company pre-approve any tweets that could materially impact the automaker.

The top securities regulator told a judge on Monday that Musk has not sought pre-approval for a single tweet about Tesla since striking the court-approved deal.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
