Gareth Gates incurred the wrath of incensed Coronation Street viewers after he revealed a character's death before it happened onscreen.
Wednesday night's emotional episode of the ITV soap saw bride-to-be Rana Habeeb crushed in the Underworld factory roof collapse, with the character having entered the building to retrieve her wedding rings.
However, before the devastating moment Rana passed away in fiancée Kate Connor's arms, Gareth - who is engaged to actress Faye Brooks in real life - gave the game away on Instagram.

The singer, 34, took to the social media site at 8.42pm during the ad break to praise his other half for her outstanding acting as well as reveal his sadness that actress Bhavna Limbachia, who plays Rana, would be leaving the soap.
With Gareth already having insider knowledge of the storyline, he hadn't realised that he revealed Rana's fate before it aired on screen - with the character passing away shortly before 9pm.
He wrote to his 45k followers: 'So proud of my lady @faye_brookes in @coronationstreet - such amazing TRUE acting. Sad to lose the beautiful and incredibly talented @bhavnalimbachia.'
Commenting on the video, which saw Gareth and partner Faye, 31, discussing the episode, viewers raged at the Pop Idol star for spoiling the ending of the show.

Whoops: Before the sad moment Rana passed away in fiancée Kate Connor's arms, Gareth - who is engaged to actress Faye Brooks in real life - gave the game away on Instagram
'B****y hell spoiler' fumed one fan, whiule another added: 'Oh god, you've just given it away.'
'Noooooo haven't watched it yet,' moaned a third watcher.
A fourth raged at the star saying: 'You have just ruined it!!!'
With another fan predicting: 'Oh Gareth, you are gonna get some stick for this!!!!'.
Despite Gareth's huge blunder, several watchers were quick to praise the episode, with the heart-wrenching scenes leaving many on the brink of tears.

Not impressed: Commenting on the video, which saw Gareth and partner Faye discussing the episode, viewers raged at the Pop Idol star for spoiling the ending of the show
One tweeted: 'Coronation Street has me in tears. I've never cried at a soap before but this has really hit me.'
Another posted: 'Coronation Street got me emotional as hell,' while a third also tweeted: 'My poor baby is in there I'm sobbing it can't end like that. That's seriously messed up. Iain MacLeod I've never hated u more.'
Rana's death came as a shock to many Corrie fans - though not all as Bhavna had confirmed beforehand she was leaving the soap - especially as she was thought to be nowhere near the factory when the roof collapsed.
However Rana returned to the factory to fetch the weddings rings, as fellow bride Kate waited patiently at the venue for her wife-to-be.

In tears: In emotional scenes the much-loved character finally passed away in fiancé Kate's arms, on what was supposed to be their wedding day

Mrs and Mrs: As Rana lay under the rubble, she and Kate emotionally exchanged their rings and wedding vows
It was then revealed that Rana was trapped under the rubble, and made a desperate phonecall to Kate for help.
While paramedics managed to reach Rana, she asked doctor Ali to break the news to Kate that she might not survive.
After Kate wept at the chance she may never see her wife-to-be again, she decided to try and save her and ran into the factory rubble.
In scenes that left viewers highly emotional, Kate and Rana recited their wedding vows to each other and exchanged rings, and the nurse then suddenly passed away.

RIP: The episode ended on a sombre note as Kate sobbed hysterically while cradling Rana after her death, as the camera panned away from the destroyed factory roof
Following her sad departure from the soap after three years in the role, Bhavna took to Twitter on Wednesday to post a touching tribute to her fans, having previously confirmed that she was leaving the show.
She wrote: 'With my whole heart I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting my time at Coronation Street. I've grown so much both personally and professionally through playing Rana Habeeb/Nazir/almost Connor.
'I'm going to miss everyone so much. Thank you to the cast, crew, production team and the entire Coronation Street family for making this journey a very special one.
'And a huge Thank You to the viewers, especially the Kana fandom [for] all your continued support and warm wishes. I will cherish these memories forever. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.'

Honoured: In a lengthy statement, Bhavna wrote how grateful she was to have played Rana, as she also admitted it was her decision the character be killed off
Bhavna's sad words came as she also admitted it was her decision to be killed off, as she knew there would be no scenario when Rana would just leave Kate, after the couple fought so hard to be together.
In her exit interview she said: 'When I told Kate Oates and Iain McLeod that I wanted to leave the show to try other things, it was my decision and my choice for Rana to die because it was the only fitting end to the character.
'Kate and Rana had fought so hard to be together and they had been through thick and thin together.
'I believe their love was so pure as two souls that there was no way that Rana was just going to have a change of heart, hop in a cab and leave.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
