Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt has been suspended without pay for the first eight games of the 2019 regular season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy in connection with two physical altercations: his attack on a woman at his residence in February of 2018 and another at an Ohio resort last June.
Hunt was placed on the Commissioner Exempt list on November 30 and subsequently released by the Kansas City Chiefs, who claimed that the star had lied to the team about kicking and shoving a 19-year-old woman during altercation in February of 2018 that was caught on video and later publicized.
The Browns signed Hunt on February 11 with the understanding that he could be suspended.
Hunt will forfeit $303,529 of his $645,000 base salary with the suspension, but according to ESPN's Field Yates, he will have a chance to recoup $200,000 in bonuses.

Police spoke with Hunt (right) at his apartment inside the Cleveland hotel on February 10, 2018

Police body cam footage shows the woman crying as she spoke to police: 'He shoved me, he pushed me. You can watch the video tapes, which I would like to see if that's possible'
He will be a restricted free agent next summer, when the Browns will have the right of first refusal.
Hunt's agent, Dan Saffron, said there will be no appeal in a released statement in response to the announcement of the discipline.
'PFS Agency stands behind our client, Kareem Hunt, in his decision to accept the suspension handed down by the NFL today,' Saffron said.
According to the league press release, Hunt has told the league office that he accepts responsibility for his actions and his suspension. The statement claims he has committed to taking advantage of available resources 'resources to help him grow personally and as a member of the Cleveland community, and to live up to his obligations as an NFL player.'
Hunt will be eligible to play in the Browns' ninth game of the season.
Before the video's public release, the team had stuck by the Pro Bowl running back despite reports of the woman's assault accusations at the time of the incident. Hunt was never arrested over the allegations.
The video footage shows Hunt arguing with the woman at 3:22 AM on February 10, 2018 outside Hunt's hotel apartment at Cleveland's Metropolitan at the 9. (Although Hunt played for the Chiefs, the Ohio native's apartment was in Cleveland)
The altercation begins with Hunt coming out of the hotel room to speak with her.

The woman told police that Hunt came out of the apartment and 'shoved and pushed' her, causing abrasions on her knee and hand and a scratch on her chest, according to the report
As they get closer, a male who appears to be friends with Hunt tries to separate them before Hunt violently shoves the woman away.
Several more men and another woman emerge from the hotel room and attempt to hold back Hunt, who re-emerges from the doorway to knock one of the men into the woman, both of whom tumble to the carpeted hallway floor.
Later in the footage, which was originally released by TMZ, Hunt can be seen kicking the woman while she crouched on the floor.
Police body cam footage shows the woman crying as she spoke to police. A police spokesperson could not immediately provide the body-cam footage.
'He shoved me, he pushed me,' she said. 'You can watch the video tapes, which I would like to see if that's possible.
'Also, I came down after and asked the clerk in the white shirt if I can call 911,' she continued. 'I'm not sure if that's against the law to deny that to a person... I asked him three times, and he said 'that's what you get for being a s***.'
'Meanwhile, Kareem, the person who assaulted me, had my phone. I had no way of calling,' she continued, before adding, 'I got it back.'
At the time, Cleveland police Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia told Cleveland.com the incident appeared to be a cross complaint, meaning either accuser would be directed to the prosecutor's office if inclined to press charges.
According to the reports, the woman and a friend - who said they were Kent State students - spent the night visiting bars on a party bus with Hunt, Hunt's friend and others before going back to Hunt's apartment.
The dispute occurred after the accuser and her friend were asked to leave the apartment but remained in the hallway outside, making noise and banging on the apartment door, the reports say.
The woman told police that Hunt came out of the apartment and 'shoved and pushed' her, causing abrasions on her knee and hand and a scratch on her chest, according to the report.
A woman in Hunt's group of friends told police that the accuser hit her in the face when she went into the hallway with hopes of ending the fracas.
There were also reports at the time that the woman called Hunt the n-word
Hunt went to high school in Willoughby, Ohio and played in college at Toledo before being drafted by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2017 draft. He led the NFL with 1,327 rushing yards as a rookie.
Hunt was previously accused of punching a man in the face at an Ohio resort, but charged were never filed.

In an interview with ESPN on Sunday, Kareem Hunt insisted that he wasn't that 'type of person' and begged for forgiveness after his career went up in flames
He was released by the Chiefs following the release of the hotel video. The Browns signed Hunt to a one-year contract in February after general manager John Dorsey -- who drafted Hunt as GM of the Chiefs -- and owner Jimmy Haslam reviewed the situation and discussed appropriate steps toward contrition with Hunt.
'We had done our research,' Dorsey said at the NFL Scouting Combine. 'We thought at the appropriate time with all the information we did have, how truly remorseful he was and ... knowing when he comes here there are no guarantees, he's going to earn your respect with his actions. Right now, I feel very comfortable with the signing.
'Deep down, if you really sit down and engage with him, he has a really good heart. The act he did last year -- it was egregious. We all know that. ... He's showing through his actions, not his words, how remorseful he is.'
Hunt is not permitted to be with the Browns during the suspension, but can participate in training camp and preseason games.
'He's got a lot of work to do,' Browns coach Freddie Kitchens said in Indianapolis, 'between now and when that second chance comes. Right now, our job is to support Kareem and help him grow as a person.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
