«Breaking News» Brie Larson reveals she couldn't work with Captain Marvel's cat Goose on set because she's ALLERGIC

In the film, Carol Danvers has an adorable pet cat named Goose, after the Top Gun character of the same name, who also doubles as her side-kick.

But Captain Marvel star Brie Larson has revealed that she's highly allergic to cats, and couldn't even be in the same room as the feline star Reggie.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly on Friday, the actress,  29, explained: 'It became this joke because the crew would watch me all day doing crazy stunts.

'But then the cat showed up on set and I was like, "We need to have a plan! We need to have a conversation!"'

The publication revealed that the only way to work around Brie's allergy was to use fake cats, as one version of the cat is computer-generated, and another was a realistic puppet.

Reggie, the tabby cat that does appear in the film, presumably worked with a stand-in actor in a different room to Brie to avoid aggravating her allergies.

But Reggie had a great relationship with Brie's co-star Samuel L. Jackson, it seems, as the actor said: 'You give them a snack, you talk to them in a relatively kind tone, and give them another snack when it’s over. Next time they see you, it’s like, "Oh, that’s the dude with the snacks!"'

Brie is the first woman to lead a Marvel superhero film as Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel in the blockbuster of the same name. 

The actress previously said she worked out four hours a day, seven days a week in the gym with trainer Jason Walsh for the role.

In the film, she plays an Air Force pilot who becomes imbued with incredible powers after an explosion and the workouts allowed her to have the strength to perform stunts and fight scenes as her character.

Thanks to her role, at 5ft7in, Brie can now impressively dead-lift 225lbs, hip-thrust 400lbs, and even push a jeep up a hill.

Captain Marvel is scheduled for release in the UK and USA on March 8.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
