«Breaking News» Ant and Dec are SNUBBED from the RTS Awards nominations for the first time in NINE years

Ant and Dec have been left off the Royal Television Society Programme Awards nominations for the first time in nine years.

The presenting duo - Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, both 43 - have been a firm fixture on the awards list for just shy of a decade, with the 2019 noms cutting them off before the 10-year mark.

It's presumed that this is due to events from the last two years, which have seen Ant sporadically take time away from his presenting duties to battle a painkiller addiction, drink driving charges and a messy divorce.

The most recent break saw their show Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway go on hiatus for 2019, and Ant sitting out of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2018, with Holly Willoughby replacing him.

Despite their long-standing placement on the nominations list, Ant and Dec have only won three RTS Awards - in stark contrast to their 35 National Television Awards, the latest of which they won despite their temporary 'split'.

While Dec's personal life has seen him marry partner Ali Astall in 2015 and welcome their first child, Isla, last year, Ant's has involved the end of his marriage to Lisa Armstrong after 11 years.

Ant has since got together with his PA - Anne-Marie Corbett - and has credited her for 'saving his life' after he went to rehab for his addiction to prescription drugs and alcohol in 2017.

Ant then pleaded guilty to drink-driving in April last year after being involved in a three-car collision.

Meanwhile dramas Save Me and Killing Eve have topped the nominations list, while other noticeable absences include Strictly Come Dancing, The X Factor and runaway hit BBC thriller Bodyguard.

Sky Atlantic's Save Me is up for the Drama Series prize, and Lennie James - who created, wrote, and starred in the programme - is nominated in the Writer and Male Actor categories.

The thriller, which follows the story of Nelson (Lennie) whose world is turned upside down when his 13-year-old estranged daughter mysteriously disappears, is also recognised with Alice Feetham - who played Bernie - in contention for the Breakthrough Award.

Killing Eve - which stars Grey's Anatomy's Sandra Oh and Doctor Foster's Jodie Comer - has also been recognised in the Drama Series category with the two leading ladies nominated in the Female Actor category alongside Black Earth Rising's Michaela Coel.

The Last Leg, Britain's Got Talent and Don't Hate The Playaz are nominated in the Entertainment category alongside comedian Michael McIntyre. Lesley Manville is up for the Female Comedy Performance accolade for her moving portrayal of Cathy in Mum.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
