«Breaking News» Woman brands Tinder 'sexist' after she was kicked off the dating app for using hunting photos

A Vermont woman claims to have been banned from Tinder because she used hunting photos in her display profile. 

Nichole Magoon, 32, of South Burlington, told WBRC that when she was on vacation in San Francisco in January, she opened up the popular dating app and discovered she was not able to swipe right or left to pick or reject possible dates. 

She claimed that 'in a few hours, I was banned from the platform!'

Tinder told Magoon that she had 'violated the terms of service and their community guidelines'

When she questioned the ban, Tinder apparently told her that she had 'violated the terms of service and their community guidelines.'

Magoon believes that the two hunting photos she uses in her profile had offended Tinder users in the San Francisco Bay area. 

This, despite having 'cropped it so there were no weapons, or any kind of blood showing.' She also noted that she and her family hunt for food and are not trophy hunters. 'We respect the animal,' she said. 

The photos on her profile show Magoon crouching behind dead deer. She can be seen holding on deer by its antlers. The other deer appears to have a red, bloody spot its chest. 

Magoon believes that there is a double standard on dating apps as there are many men who post similar hunting photos but they are not banned from the apps

Magoon said that she posted this hunting photo because hunting is a hobby of hers

She said her family hunt for food and that she was careful to crop out guns and blood on Tinder

Magoon told My Champlain Valley that she posted the hunting pictures on her profile because it's 'something I do as a hobby.'

Magoon said that one of the San Francisco-based people who saw the photos on her profile actually emailed her employer, attaching screenshots of the profile and 'saying some not nice things.'  

A Tinder spokesperson told WBRC in a statement that Magoon’s account 'had been reported multiple times,' but that the ban was reversed and she is now free to use the dating app. 

Magoon said that she has not decided whether she wants to keep using Tinder, though.   

Magoon is claiming that there is a 'double standard that exists' on Tinder because she was banned for her hunting photos, while there are many men on the app who have posted similar images but they haven't been reported for violating Tinder's terms of service or community guidelines.   

'It’s time to address these double standards,' she told Yahoo Lifestyle. 'If I were a man, this wouldn’t be an issue. It also speaks to discrimination women face in hunting, which is a male-dominated sport.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
