A star forward for the University of Wisconsin's basketball team says she has no regrets amid fury over her sitting down during the national anthem.
Marsha Howard, a senior at the college, sits down when The Star Spangled Banner is played while the rest of her teammates stand with hands on hearts.
Howard closes her eyes and bows her head before matches, mimicking the trend started in the NFL more than two years ago.

The Chicago-native, who plays her ball in Madison, Wisconsin, told the Chicago Tribune: 'If this can make a change, I’ll be part of it. I never really thought about the negative backlash.
'I’m going to live in my truth. I’m going to speak up about things that are harming my culture and my people. I was OK with living in that light.'
She grew up the notorious Englewood neighborhood on Chicago's south-side and described herself as a tough girl who always played with the boys.
She says she hopes to become a social worker when she finishes playing basketball and wants to be an inspiration to others from her neighborhood.
Howard was inspired by Colin Kaepernick taking a knee in the NFL and felt compelled to follow his example.
Her decision prompted a reaction from the US Senator for Iowa Chuck Grassley, who Tweeted last year: 'Iowa constituents asked me why a starter for Wisconsin women Bb wld not be patriotic enuf to stand for natl anthem song today /ASK THE WISCONSIN COACH/ Exprress outrage to university.'

Howard told the Tribune she was not bothered, having received a raft of supportive messages since the Senator highlighted her actions.
She says her ambition is to promote awareness and an energetic 'I Can' attitude for younger team-mates.
Howard most recently took a seat and bowed her head during the anthem at the State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois on Sunday.
The Wisconsin Badgers were defeated by the Illinois Fighting Illini 78 - 68 in the NCAA Women's fixture.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
