The 35-year-old rapper, real name Stephen Manderson, shared a candid Instagram snap of himself from his hospital bed in a neck brace on Tuesday.

Describing the shocking incident, the musician penned: 'I had seizure this morning which resulted in a fall while I was packing for tour 1/3.'

'Depending on how you look at this fall I was extremely lucky. I'm very fractured vertebrae in my neck and subsequently had to cancel my tour that was due to start today 2/3.'

'I'll be back in the winter with a bigger tour. I've had two further seizures and am lucky I didn't break my neck. Really f*****g lucky. Thanks for baring with me', the Hackney native told his fans.

Stephen was set to perform across the UK this month, with his shows scheduled to start in Cardiff, before hitting the stage in Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield and finally Brighton on February 21.

A statement from Professor Green's spokesperson read: 'Due to a serious neck injury Professor Green has been forced to cancel his February 2019 tour. Tickets for all dates are refundable. Refunds will be made available at the point of purchase.'

In November, Stephen released a new single called Photographs, and in a video about the song he reflected on his pain over not having enough images of his father, Peter, who sadly committed suicide.

Breaking down, he said: 'Photographs conjure up so many different emotions. The ones I miss the most are the ones I never took. They are for me in many ways the memories I don’t have – especially the ones from my childhood. I wish I had more.

'I was having a conversation about photographs and how there are large parts of my life where there are no photographs. We live in an age now where we take way too many pictures. That was really when I started to incubate the idea for the single, Photographs.'

Opening up once again, Stephen revealed that the last words he said to his dad, Peter, before he died were 'I hate you'.

Sharing his story, he said back in 2015 that the grieving process is still one he is trying to get a handle on as he hosted a mini-documentary as part of the BBC's Lifeline series.

Speaking candidly, the Hackney born star said of his father: 'He was always the parent I favoured but as a child it was complicated.

'He was always in and out of my life; at 18 we stopped talking and after five years I decided to reach out to try and arrange a meeting.'

Talking about the last time he saw his dad added: 'Unfortunately we ended up arguing and the last words I said to him were "I hate you". The terrible thing is I never got to see him again because a few months later he killed himself.'

Scarred by their last conversation, Stephen, also told how as of yet he still has not gotten over the grieving process as he struggles to deal with such a great loss to his family structure.

He continued: 'The moment I found out my dad had taken his own life is still as clear today as it was the moment it happened. I kept wondering why no one had seen it coming.

'I still find it quite difficult to articulate how I felt... the weird thing about grieving is it never stops.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
