«Breaking News» Oti Mabuse reveals she has been approached to present The One Show

It looks like Oti Mabuse will be staying on the small screen when The Greatest Dancer wraps up this Saturday as she is being lined up to present The One Show.

With presenter Alex Jones, 41, due to go on maternity leave in May, the professional dancer, 28, revealed she was approached by TV executives to take part in the series.   

She told The Sun: 'They said to me, "How would you feel about working on The One Show?"

'And I thought they initially meant somewhere behind the camera. They were like, "No, to present!"

'Before they had even finished the sentence I said, "Yes, whatever you want! Yes, don’t worry, I will make it work!" They left the room and I dropped to the floor and screamed at the top of my voice.'

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Oti and Alex for comment.   

According to the publication, the offer came after Oti appeared on the show last month alongside her The Greatest Dancer co-judge Cheryl where she spoke about racial discrimination.

Bosses were said to be so impressed with her, they offered her the opportunity as soon as she went off-air.

Oti will reportedly present her first episode of The One Show On March 8 and bosses will then decide whether she will fill-in for Alex permanently while she is on maternity leave.

While her TV career continues to go from strength-to-strength, Oti insisted she has no plans to leave Strictly Come Dancing anytime soon.

The TV star said she still loves working on the show, which she joined in 2015, and enjoys spending time with the other professional dancers.

She added that she also loves teaching the celebrities how to dance and her role on The Greatest Dancer has reminded her how much she loves teaching. 

Oti added that she would like to see Cheryl take part in Strictly one day but added that the Fight For This Love Singer is 'busy'.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
