A Minnesota man has admitted that he strangled his girlfriend and mother-of-two at her home last summer and then inserted a cocaine-laced straw into her nose to try and make it look as though she died from an overdose.

Ivan Dan Walker, 34, from Stillwater, pleaded guilty Friday in Ramsey County District Court to the second-degree unintentional murder of 39-year-old Shana Hollins.

He also pleaded guilty to the first-degree criminal sexual assault of a teenage house guest who had been sleeping on Branch's couch on the night of the killing in July 2018 according to the Star Tribune.

Hollin's two sons, who were aged 20 and 7 at the time, were at home during the murder with one of them calling 911.

When authorities arrived, they found Hollins in her bed with bodily fluids streaming out of her nose and a plastic straw protruding from it. Hollins was pronounced dead at the scene.

A teen, Hollin's cousin, told investigators she was sleeping on the couch when Walker came downstairs and forcibly handled and dragged her into another room. He beat her, forced sex and threatened to kill her multiple times.

The teen told police she saw Walker snort cocaine from a CD case, place it next to the body of Hollins and he told the teen he planned to make Hollins' death look like an overdose.

After the original assault, Walker took the teen down to the basement where he sexually assaulted her and threatened that he 'might have to kill her, too,' the complaint reads.

The teen told Walker that she would not report the sexual assault and got away when she persuaded him to let her use an upstairs bathroom. That is when she saw Hollins lying on a bed; her feet had turned purple.

She told police she persuaded Walker to leave, promising she wouldn’t call police — and as soon as he did she gave a knife to Hollins’ 20-year-old son and told him to call police and lock the door.

Walker is due to be sentenced in April to 30 years in prison as part of the plea agreement and register as a lifetime predatory offender.

Krystal Hollins, Shana Hollins' lone sibling, said of the sentence to TwinCities.com: 'I thought that was a slap in the face, but I was told that's the highest the state of Minnesota could go. I'm disgusted, because when 30 years is up, he will still be alive.

'This is never going to end. Our lives have changed forever. The reaction is gut-wrenching.'

The Ramsey County medical examiner later determined that the probable cause of Hollins’ death was asphyxia due to assault. Cocaine, THC, methamphetamine and ethanol also were found in her system and noted as contributing factors.

Court documents show that an arrest warrant for Walker had already been issued in the state of Missouri for a parole violation associated with a robbery conviction.

He served six years of a 12-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to robbery charges in 2008. He was paroled in 2014.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
