«Breaking News» The Greatest Dancer EXCLUSIVE: Cheryl was 'put to the test' and 'proved everyone wrong'

She's won a whole new army of fans with her jaw-dropping dance moves

But The Greatest Dancer host Jordan Banjo has revealed that even Cheryl was 'put to the test' during her epic performance with the Strictly Come Dancing professionals.

In an exclusive interview with MailOnline the Diversity star said that fans can expect Saturday's final to be nothing short of 'supercharged,' as he went onto praise Cheryl for proving everyone wrong with her dance abilities.

Speaking to MailOnline Jordan, 26, admitted that he wasn't surprised by the negative reaction aimed towards Cheryl, but did say that he was 'worried' about how she would stack up against fellow dance captains Oti Mabuse and Matthew Morrison.

He said: 'I wasn't shocked at Cheryl being a dance captain, and I wasn't shocked at the reaction, because of the achievements of what she's done, [but] I was always worried it would happen.

'I said before, don't let how amazing she is as a performer and as a singer and as you know her before, overshadow the fact that she has a wealth of experience in dance.

'She's grown up around it, she goes all around the world performing and dancing, last week throughout the opening numbers, Cheryl's a terrific dancer.'

Revealing: Jordan, 26, told MailOnline that he wasn't shocked by the reaction towards Cheryl's announcement as a coach on the show, as he also teased Saturday's 'supercharged' final

Jordan then went onto add that performing with the Strictly pros - and Pasha Kovalev - meant that Cheryl was worthy of being on the same stage as the other dance captains, proving the naysayers wrong.

'If anything was a test, it's ''right we're going to put you in with all the Strictly dancers,'' you've got a group of world class dancers and put Cheryl in it, if being part of that doesn't prove everyone wrong than nothing will,' he added.

Cheryl of course earned a thunderous reception for her performance alongside Matthew, Oti and the Strictly pros last week, performing a section with Pasha in what was his last performance with his Come Dancing colleagues.

Jordan also showered praise on fellow dance captains Matthew and Oti, and even said he was completely aback by their down-to-earth nature.

He said: 'Before I met up I was like in my head, if anyone's got reason to have an ego it's these three, in what they do they are literally titans.

'I was thinking who knows how they're all gonna be? But from the minute I walked in it was just like hanging out with a better-looking version of Diversity.'

Of course, Jordan has been co-hosting The Greatest Dancer with Alesha Dixon and the pair have proven a hit with the viewers.

When asked whether it was bizarre meeting the Britain's Got Talent judge - since Diversity rose to prominence after winning the show in 2009 - Jordan said that instead they got on like a house on fire.

He said: 'Before Greatest Dancer I'd met Alesha a couple of times, so I've met Alesha and she'd always seemed lovely, so when I found out I was going to be working with her I wasn't nervous.

'I was more nervous by the fact that she's so amazing at what she does so I wanted to go do a good job as well.

'From the first time we started working together Alesha just made it so easy, we're just bantering back and forth, it's not like work or anything like that.'

But for die-hard Diversity fans, Jordan had some unfortunate news - they would not  be taking to the stage on Saturday.

'I would have loved to perform with the boys but I had surgery in December on my knee and I can't dance again until August-September time,' he explained.

'I'm doing two to three sessions of physio a week, I'm back with one of the boys actually he trains me on one of my legs.

'It's been a bit of a rubbish end of the year having to have surgery.'

Jaw-dropping: The second act is James and Oliver, as Jordan explianed each dance act will perform twice in the live final

Saturday will see the remaining four acts - James and Oliver, Harry and Eleiyah, Ellie Fergusson and KLA - take to the stage for a showstopping final, and Jordan exclusively teased that fans will finally see the acts performing with their coaches.

He explained: 'The acts have to dance twice, one of their performances is their audition re-imagined and kind of the nature of what the show is, the production levels shot up, everything is going to be bigger and better, in terms of the competition.'

'I wish I wasn't such a fan of the show, I'm like ''nope I don't wanna see it, I don't wanna see it in dress rehearsals"'

'When they come up after and they chat to them I'm genuinely exited. I love being surprise with everyone else, where I'm a big fan of the show I get to experience it as well.

'I'm not trying to show off here I've got the best of both worlds.'

The dancer then revealed that he had previously tipped Company Jinx, Frobacks and Harry and Eleiyah to go all the way in the competition, but so far only one of his predictions have proven correct.

In the exclusive interview he added: 'From Week Two when Matthew lost two acts I was thinking, it really shocked me, the first week is a tough one, anyone can leave, this will kind of give us a scope.

'So when the Globe Girls went I thought it's a shock but somebody's got to go. Last week Cheryl, two acts! You just don't know what's gonna happen.'

And despite the show's stellar success, Jordan admitted that there has been little word yet on whether the Greatest Dancer will return for a second series.

The Greatest Dancer: The Final airs Saturday 23rd February at 7:10pm on BBC One.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
