«Breaking News» Blue brilliance! Queen dons a sapphire and diamond brooch

The Queen looked radiant in cobalt blue as she attended a church service at a London barracks on Friday.

The monarch, 92, brought a splash of colour to proceedings in a vibrant coat and matching hat as she arrived at the Guards' Chapel, at Wellington Barracks.

She completed the look with a dazzling diamond and sapphire brooch, which she was gifted on her wedding to the Duke of Edinburgh in 1947.

The honour was bestowed by her grandfather, King George V in 1919, in recognition of its outstanding service and sacrifice during the First World War.

The Queen appeared in excellent spirits as she arrived for the engagement, smiling broadly as she stepped out of her chauffeur-driven car.

She wore the bouclé blue coat over an elegant dress printed with blue flowers and accessorised with a pair of black leather shoes and a black handbag.

However it is the brooch on her lapel that caught the eye as it twinkled in the sunshine.

The Carrington Feather Brooch, which features a large square sapphire, was presented to the Queen by the jewellers Carrington to mark her nuptials more than 70 years ago.

The central stone, laid on a delicate feather encrusted with diamonds, is distinctive in its indigo hue, which can appear more blue or purple depending on the outfit with which it is worn.

The Queen has sported the piece on a number of occasions over the years, including to Royal Ascot and to the wedding of Lady Tamara Katherine Grosvenor and Edward Van Cutsem in November 2004.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
