«Breaking News» Alligator catches flying golf ball at Florida golf course

A Florida golfer was stunned when she hit a bad shot and the ball zipped towards the water, where an alligator suddenly jumped up and caught it with its mouth. 

Joanne and Len Sadowky were playing in a local couples tournament on Saturday at the Bonita National Golf Club in Bonita Springs.  

Joanne hit a bad tee off hole two and as her eyes followed the soaring ball, she saw the creature raise its menacing head and capture the ball with its sharp teeth. 

'I shanked the ball to the right, and it was heading to the water. It was close to the gator's head. He saw it, jumped up and caught it,' she said to the Naples Daily News.

She snapped a picture of the gator with his snout open and her light pink golf ball perched in its mouth. 

Sadowsky earned a free drop following the alligator interference. 

'It saved me from a hazard penalty,' she said. 

Sadowsky, a three-year resident of the area, wasn't phased by the creature's surprise appearance.

A picture of the giant creature holding the ball in its jeering mouth is going viral online with social media users saying: 'Forget me EVER GOLFING. Always gators everywhere'

'We’ve seen them with a fish or a turtle in their mouths, but never a golf ball,' she said on the sighting.  

Alligators aren't a rare sight at the Bonita Springs Golf Course as it borders the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. 

The predators are known to wander onto the course's 17's lakes from their sanctuary. 

Despite the free drop, the couple didn't win the tournament. 

'We came close but were just out of the money,' Sadowsky said.   

Pictures of the jeering alligator were posted to Facebook, leaving some social media users saying: 'Forget me EVER GOLFING. Always gators everywhere'.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
