Media mogul Sumner Redstone and his family have agreed to a settlement with Manuela Herzer, the ex-girlfriend he previously accused of stealing $75million from him.
Sources familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal that Herzer has agreed to pay back $3.25million of the tens of millions of dollars in gifts 95-year-old Redstone gave her over the years.
The settlement comes after more than three years of litigation that began in the fall of 2015, when Redstone kicked Herzer out of his Beverly Hill mansion and wrote her out of his will.
Herzer subsequently sued, claiming that Redstone’s mental abilities were diminished, which would thus invalidate the amended trust.
Redstone, the majority owner of National Amusements Inc, which holds almost 80 per cent of voting stakes in CBS and Viacom, responded by filing a lawsuit against Herzer in an attempt to claw back $75million worth of gifts he gave her.
A trial was slated to begin next week on January 14.

Redstone stepped down as the executive chairman of the two companies he controls, CBS and Viacom Inc, in early 2016, shortly Herzer got a court-appointed doctor to examine him.
Herzer and another ex-companion, Sydney Holland, have alleged that Redstone's daughter, Shari, manipulated her father so that she could take over his media empire. Shari denies those allegations.
Redstone has had such difficulty speaking in the past several years that he has had to communicate with an iPad loaded with recordings from past interviews along with buttons for 'yes', 'no' and 'f*** you'.
Last month a judge ordered that he be placed under court-appointed guardianship ‘ad litem’ - a legal term that means an individual who acts on behalf of another, usually a child or an incapacitated adult, in a lawsuit, because of his difficulty speaking.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
