«Breaking News» Family forced to sleep in one room because cowboy builder 'destroyed' home and fled

A family of five have been forced to sleep in one room after a cowboy builder allegedly destroyed their home and fled with the £46,000 they paid for an extension.

Student Thenucha Sivakumar, 19, posted a shocking video of the three bedroom terrace home in Lewisham, south east London, where she lives with her mother and three siblings.

The devastated family have been left with gaping holes in their floors, disconnected pipes with no running water and huge piles of debris scattered around their home.

And they were shocked to discover that the rogue builder, Ben Woodman, 32, allegedly owes more than £180,000 to at least 24 other families for an array of unfinished work, The Sun reported.

A total of 16 county court judgements have also accumulated against him for £43,121 over the past two years, according to court records.

Miss Sivakumar told The Sun: 'He has destroyed our lives.

'We called the police but they said it was a civil matter.

'He hasn't even paid his own workers as they keep knocking on our door looking for him and asking for their wages.'

Mr Woodman has since admitted to The Sun that he 'messed up' but has denied he is a 'conman'.

The Sivakumar family claim they paid Mr Woodman £46,000 up front to build a single storey extension on their house with a new floor, open plan lounge and dining room over the span of eight weeks.

But they claim he ripped up the floor in the dining room and lounge and only built the walls and timber joists for the roof before vanishing.

Despite efforts to get in contact with Mr Woodhouse, the family have not heard from him since October.

Shocking footage taken of the house shows exposed brick, dripping water from leaking pipes and piles of bricks in the garden.

Before vanishing, Mr Woodhouse disconnected the pipes in their kitchen so their sink cannot be used.

The rogue builder allegedly ripped out the chimney breast in one of the bedrooms leaving a vast hole in the floor.

Now the family have been forced to share one room, spread out across just a double bed and a single mattress.

And the third tiny room is being used as a place to study by the four siblings aged 15 to 19, who are all at school or university.

The builder's now closed Facebook includes posts from users attempting to warn others about the 'conman' who 'robs hard earned money', according to The Sun.

Mr Woodhouse claimed his company had gone into insolvency.

He told the Sun: 'Things do go pear-shaped. I'm not a massive firm. It's been in insolvency.'

Link hienalouca.com Interesting to note Looking for an investor or sponsor for a project to grow dinosaurs and relict plants. Requires the sum of investments from 400000$ to 900000$. The exact amount can not say because there are many nuances. It will be necessary to build a small laboratory with certain parameters. To all interested persons please write on an email angocman@gmail.com . It is the scientific project and I do not know whether it is possible to earn on it. The probability of success of the project is approximately 60%. That will be very interesting.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
