«Breaking News» PICTURED: Next-generation Marine One prototype lands on White House lawn

The first images have emerged of the prototype helicopter that will become the next Marine One landing on the White House lawn.

The test flight was conducted on September 22, and may have been intended to test whether the new aircraft did any damage to the White House landscaping, which has been an issue with the program, The Drive reported. 

The prototype Sikorsky VH-92 is slated to replace the current VH-3D 'Sea King' and VH-60N 'White Hawk' helicopters in the Marine One 'white top' fleet, which is responsible for transporting the president.

The Navy has ordered 23 of the new aircraft at an estimated total cost of $5.06 billion.

Currently, the Sikorsky VH-92 prototype is undergoing extensive testing at Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland.

It is projected to go into service in 2019 and fully replace the existing white top fleet by 2023. Increasing repair costs and delays led the the replacement program.

Without offering specifics, an April 2018 report from the Government Accountability Office suggested that the new prototype was 'not meeting a key system capability requirement to land the aircraft without adversely affecting the landing zone (including the White House Lawn).'

Lockheed Martin, a subcontractor on the project, is seen integrating mission and communications systems into the Sikorsky VH-92 prototype at its facility in Owego, New York

The report stated that a solution to the problem was expected to be implemented about five months into the start of production, which is slated to begin next year. 

The new prototype is based on the Sikorsky’s S-92; a twin-engine, medium-lift model.

The new helicopters will be outfitted with executive interiors and military mission support systems, including triple electrical power and redundant flight controls.

Full specs on the new Sikorsky VH-92, and how it compares to the Sea King, are not yet available.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
