The sister of the 26-year-old man stabbed to death while trying to stop a fight outside a bar in London has said his bravery reflected 'the kind of guy he was'.

Zakaria Bukar Sharif Ali was stabbed in Kingsland Road, Shoreditch, east London, just before 6.30am on Saturday, becoming the 123rd person to be murdered in the capital in 2018.

He had been at the Rolling Stock bar and was fatally attacked when he tried to stop the confrontation.

Detective Inspector Rita Tierney said: “Zakaria was attacked following a night out.

'After leaving the Rolling Stock bar, he tried to intervene in an altercation taking place outside.

'He was attempting to calm the incident and was stabbed as a result.”

Police are looking for two suspects – one is a man in his 20s, who is about 5ft 10in, of stocky build and of Mediterranean appearance with olive skin and short, dark hair.

The second is a white man, about 6ft and heavily built, with fair-ginger hair and a fluffy beard.

Ms Tierney added: “This is a busy and popular area of London. I know that there are people who witnessed the incident or have information concerning the identity of the suspects. I urge those people to call the incident room without delay.

“My officers are currently reviewing CCTV and forensic enquiries are under way, but we need help from the public to fill in the gaps – what was the sequence of events that began with a night out and ended in Zakaria’s tragic death?”

There have now been 123 homicides in London so far this year, five more than in the whole of 2017.

Mr Sharif Ali’s sister Bushra told the Evening Standard that her brother had two children, a son aged four and a two-year-old daughter.

She told the newspaper: “He stepped in to stop it, that’s what we know from what the police told us. And that’s the kind of guy he was.”

Another sister, Khuluud, 24, told the Standard: “My brother wasn’t involved in the things that come with knife crime. He was the kind of person to try and get people away from that and help people.

“He always wanted to help people. He was the kind of person to approach a homeless person and say ‘How can I help you?’”

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
