«Breaking News» Mom hasn't been told her baby is dead after she threw her out of a car in Bali

An American woman hasn't been told her newborn baby is dead after she allegedly threw the infant from a moving car in Bali before jumping out herself.

Nicole Stasio, 32, of California, jumped out of the car without warning at an intersection in Denpasar on the Indonesian island of Bali on Tuesday evening.

Villagers found the baby with severe injuries less than a mile from where Stasio leapt out of the vehicle. The baby died in hospital about seven hours later.

Stasio, who is suffering from severe postpartum depression, has been detained at Sanglah Hospital but officers are still waiting to question her.

Because of her mental state, they have yet to tell her that her two-month-old daughter – who she named Arya Rose – has died.

South Denpasar police chief Nyoman Wiarajaya told a news conference on Wednesday that officers haven't been able to question Stasio because she is hospitalized in a severe state of depression.

'With this condition, it is unlikely we will make her a suspect.

'We are still guarding and protecting her, so she will not be more shocked and even more depressed knowing that her baby also died.'

Wiarajaya said the woman, who was born in California, traveled to Bali with her parents in July.

The parents stayed in Bali for about 10 days and Stasio gave birth on the island in September after her parents had left.

'She refused to answer when they (the parents) asked about her baby's father,' Wiarajaya said, quoting information from the driver and tour guide who had accompanied the family since they arrived.

'But she gave the impression that she was unmarried and her family preferred that she give birth to a child abroad, like wanting to avoid something,' he said.

Stasio's driver, Wayan Siaja, and a guide, Made Arimbawa, told police they had taken Stasio and her daughter to Bali's international airport on Tuesday evening.

But Stasio changed her mind about returning to the US and told them to take her back to Ubud, a town popular with tourists for its traditional crafts and culture.

They said she sat silently in the car before the tragic events unfolded, according to Wiarajaya.

Police found Stasio in a distressed state but were initially unaware of what had happened to the baby.

But villagers found the infant with severe injuries and the baby died at Bali Mandara hospital.

A nurse at the hospital told local media: 'Baby Arya Rose finally died early this morning. We have tried our best but God has other plans.'

Friends on Facebook also said Stasio was suffering from post-partum depression after the birth of her child.

They also revealed that she practiced yoga and was interested in spirituality and meditation.

She posted a picture of her cradling her pregnant belly in August, writing: 'Falling in love with my baby'.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
