A dog which was rescued from a slaughterhouse at China's notorious Yulin dog meat festival this year has found a safe new home in Britain.
Lily, a female collie mix, arrived in London on Tuesday from China together with four other dogs that had escaped cruel deaths.
The five pooches were brought to safety by animal lovers from filthy underground animal abattoirs ahead of the annual Yulin feasts in June.

It is estimated that 10 million dogs are slaughtered for meat in China annually. Many of them are believed to be stolen pets.
Yulin dog meat festival, held on the summer solstice, is a highly controversial food festival in southern China's Guangxi Province.
Each year, thousands of dogs are cruelly killed, skinned and cooked with blow-torches before being eaten by the locals.
The popular Yulin No. 1 Crispy Dog Meat restaurant prepared 12 tables along the pavement outside with 20 more tables nearby for this year's feasts, local sources reported at the time.
People in some other Asian countries, such as Vietnam and South Korea, also have the tradition of eating dogs.
The five lucky dogs, Lily, Harley, Fred, Cocoa and Rosie, were found inside three slaughterhouses on the outskirts of Yulin.
A heart-breaking picture from the rescue mission shows a frightened Lily sitting completely still on the blood-stained ground of the slaughterhouse while staring at the camera.
Workers at the dim-lit slaughterhouse were said to kill around 50 dogs every day for human consumption.

Allen, one of the volunteers who rescued Lily, said at the time: 'It was deeply moving, as though she knew we were her only hope to get out of that hell alive, so she didn't take her eyes off us for a single second in case we left without her - which of course we never would!'
The five animals were brought to the UK with the help of charity group Humane Society International.
The organisation's UK Director Claire Bass said: 'It was such a joyful moment to see our beautiful dog meat trade survivors arrive in the UK to start new, happy lives.'
Ms Bass also said the influence and size of the Yulin dog meat festival had already been reduced in recent years thanks to the pressure from the public.
Volunteers saved a total of 135 dogs, including Lily, from three slaughterhouses in Yulin in June

The organisation said Lily had already found a new home. She has been adopted by Susie Warner from Berkshire who was waiting for the cute pooch at the Heathrow Animal Reception Centre.
Ms Warner, who already has a dog, couldn't wait to hold Lily. She said Lily would make the perfect companion for her pet and was excited to get her home.
Ms Warner also said she knew Lily was the dog for her as soon as she saw the photo of her at the slaughterhouse and a video of Lily being comforted by rescuers at the shelter in China.
The other four dogs - Harley, Fred, Cocoa and Rosie - are still looking for owners in Britain. Anyone who wishes to give them a new home can submit an application to here.
Humane Society International said they were looking for people that had extra patience and love to give these dogs as the animals had gone through a traumatic time and desperately needed a fresh start.
The rest of the 135 dogs saved from the slaughterhouse are currently being looked after in shelters in China.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
