Chinese actor Jiang Jinfu has turned himself in to police in Japan after the authorities issued a warrant for his arrest over domestic violence allegations made against him by his ex-girlfriend.
The 28-year-old actor last Tuesday admitted to beating his 25-year-old model girlfriend, Haruka Nakaura, and apologised for his 'impulsive behaviour'.
New accusations against Jiang came to light after a Japanese TV station broadcast an interview with Nakura, who alleged that Jiang once knocked out two of her teeth. In another particularly severe beating, she thought she 'was going to die'.
Public opinion remain divided amid ongoing investigations, with many people slamming the actor's behaviour while his die-hard fans remained supportive. Some even expressed scepticism about the women's claims.

The shocking case first emerged when Nakaura - known in China as Zhongpu Youhua - last Monday posted pictures of her badly bruised face, neck and arms on her Instagram account, saying that Jiang's recent low profile was related to her.
Her account has since been deleted, but screenshots of her post have gone viral on Chinese social media, prompting a public outcry.
In the television interview, Nakaura described how Jiang had once beaten her from midnight until morning until she managed to escape and report him to the police, adding that the house was 'covered in blood'.
Hospital examinations determined Nakaura’s severe injuries would take longer than a month to heal, according to the report. Jiang has yet to respond to the latest claims.

But the actor, currently starring in the TV drama 'Royal Highness' broadcast in China, has been inactive on social media recently.
Jiang finally broke his silence last Tuesday on Weibo, China's equivalent to Twitter, admitting to assaulting Nakaura and expressing his remorse. The hashtag, 'Jiang Jinfu admits to domestic violence', has gathered more than 1.6 billion views then.

'Whatever the reason, I should have never raised my hand,' the actor wrote to his 17 million followers.
'I am ashamed of my actions and I will not defend it in any way. I will take responsibility for my actions and will accept the punishment. I sincerely apologise. I apologise to my parents, my friends and those who have always cared for and supported me. I am sorry for disappointing you.'
A heated debate ensued online, which comments showing a divided public opinion amid a growing debate on women's rights and gender equality in China.
'Good for him for turning himself in,' one comment read on Weibo.
'Domestic violence is unforgivable - no matter the circumstances,' a highly-rated comment read.
'When it comes to domestic violence, it's either zero times or countless times,' one user said.

However, some net users blamed the victim, criticising her motives and questioning her claims.
'I want to know the truth. The claims made by this Japanese woman is not that simple,' one top comment read.
'There must be more to the story,' another said. 'Why didn't she leave him if she said he started beating her since July?'
'I feel like he's been framed. I've seen him on TV before, he doesn't seem like the type of person to commit domestic violence. There is probably something wrong with his girlfriend,' one user commented.
The actor started in the entertainment industry as a pin-up model before rising to fame in Chinese television series 'Xuan-Yuan Sword: Scar of Sky' and 'Scarlet Heart 2'.
In China, about a quarter of women have reported experiencing some form of domestic violence, according to the All-China Women's Federation. The country introduced a domestic violence law only in 2016, but the issue remains a largely under-reported problem in Chinese society.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol.
