Ian David Long, 28, killed himself after murdering 12 others in a mass shooting at the Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks, California, on November 7
New details from the country bar massacre in California earlier this month have emerged including how many rounds the gunman fired but investigators still have not learned what his motive for the mass shooting was.
On November 8, Ian David Long opened fire on the Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks, California, with a Glock 45 pistol.
He murdered 12 people then shot himself.
Police are still unable to determine his motive despite interviewing hundreds of people since the massacre happened 20 days ago.
They now know that in total, Long fired more than 50 shots.
He had seven high capacity magazines, two of which were untouched by the time police got to the scene.
He had attached a flashlight with a laser sight to his gun and also had a knife which police believe he used to stab one of the shooting victims.
There is no evidence Long was radicalized or that he was targeting an ex-girlfriend at the Borderline Bar and Grill in the Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks, investigators said at the first news conference since the week of the shooting.
'We have no indication of radicalization,' said Paul D. Delacourt, assistant director of the FBI's Los Angeles office, at a press conference on Tuesday, adding: 'We continue to look to identify any motive.'
Officials had said they were looking into the possibility that he was targeting her.
Long, who killed himself, posted on social media about whether people would think he was insane
At the start of the attack, he threw multiple smoke grenades into the crowd during the shooting, 'which contributed significantly to the chaos and confusion inside,' Ayub said.

When sheriff's Sgt. Ron Helus and a California Highway Patrol officer responded within minutes of 911 calls, Long was ready, and ambushed them from a position of tactical advantage, Ayub said. Helus was among those killed, though neither of the officers' bullets hit Long.
Investigators have interviewed hundreds of witnesses and gathered bullet casings, surveillance video and other evidence from the scene of the shooting, as well as seized items from Long's home, including digital media, said Paul Delacourt, assistant director in charge of the FBI's Los Angeles field office.
Most of the evidence taken by the FBI is at its lab in Quantico, Virginia, for analysis, Delacourt said.
Detectives hope items from the house help them learn why Long carried out the attack and that evidence from the bar better explains how he carried it out.
Long served in the Marines for five years but was honorably discharged in 2013. He was a machine gunner
'There's a process of both interviewing the people and getting the information investigators obtain and consolidating those to develop a timeline, and if we can discover what the motivation was for this attack,' Ventura County sheriff's Capt. Garo Kuredjian said.
'They've been doing that pretty much around the clock since it happened.'
Their work persisted in spite of a wildfire that erupted just hours after the shooting, forcing FBI investigators and local sheriff's detectives to evacuate.
'They didn't miss a beat,' said Kuredjian, who also had to flee.
Long, a former machine gunner and Afghanistan war veteran, attacked the bar on a busy weekday night, firing into the crowd as some hurled barstools through windows to escape.
Neighbors said Long made them uncomfortable and even called 911 on him in April. Responding deputies found Long behaving angrily and irrationally, but a mental health specialist who met with him didn't feel he needed to be hospitalized.
Two of Long's former high school track coaches described his behavior during his teenage years as aggressive and disturbing.
They told The Associated Press that they repeatedly complained about Long to school administrators, insisted that he needed help, and even kicked him off the team after he assaulted one of them.
They say another coach reinstated Long after arguing that removing him could jeopardize his goal of joining the military.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
