Ashley Cole and his girlfriend Sharon Canu were seen enjoying a pre-workout coffee in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon.
And, in an unfortunate snap, Ashley, 37, was caught inserting a smokeless tobacco pouch into the top of his lip, as Italian-born Sharon was seen texting on her phone across the table from him.
The product - known as Snus - resembles a tiny tea bag and is placed under the top lip, gradually releasing nearly three times as much nicotine as a cigarette.

The footballer - who now plays for LA Galaxy in California, having been a star player for Chelsea, Arsenal and England previously - wore black sportswear as he concentrated on affixing the pouch in place.
Sharon wore a baggy white sweater and black leggings, teamed with light pink trainers.
The model - who bears a striking resemblance to Ashley's pop star ex-wife Cheryl - wore her blonde locks straight and loose around her shoulders, with shades slipped up on her head.
The couple each nursed an iced coffee as they sat outside the café ahead of their gym session.

The snus is supposed to be a safer and more health-conscious alternative to smoking, and banned across the majority of Europe in 1992 after it was link to cancer scares.
A stimulant, the product is said to help with power, strength, alertness and to aid relaxation, according to some studies. Other experts liken it to putting poison in your mouth.
It's also used, reportedly, by fellow footballer Jamie Vardy - who was spotted carrying a small circular tin containing snus pouches at Euro 2016 in France and admitting he does use them.
Jamie penned, in his autobiography From Nowhere: 'Doing everything by the book has never been my style. When I joined Leicester I started using snus, which are nicotine patches you place against your gums, for 10 minutes or so.

'I used to have the odd fag on a night out at Fleetwood, but one of the lads introduced me to snus when I signed for Leicester and I found they helped me chill out.
'A lot more footballers use them than people realise, and some lads even play with them in during matches.'
Meanwhile, Ashely and Sharon welcomed their second child together, a daughter named Grace, back in February.
In February reports emerged of the athlete and Sharon welcoming their second child.

A source said: 'Ashley's over the moon to have one of each after having a daughter. Him and Sharon are really serious and devoted to each other.

'Ashley never gave Cheryl a baby when they were together and that was always the source of some frustration in their relationship – and now he's had two with Sharon.'

Ashley uprooted to America following his signing with LA Galaxy in January 2016. At the beginning of this year he signed a one-year extension contract.
East London-born Ashley is said to have met brunette beauty Sharon back in 2014, at the start of his two-year stint playing for AS Roma.
She then relocated with him two years later to California, when he followed in the footsteps of David Beckham by landing a contract with the LA Galaxy.
Ashley and former Girls Aloud singer Cheryl were one of the UK's most high-profile couples when they tied the knot in a romantic ceremony in 2006.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
