«Breaking News» MP's wife claims politicians received 'death threats' on the SAME day as the Jacob Rees-Mogg attack

The wife of an MP has claimed several politicians received death threats against their families on the same day as the Jacob Rees-Mogg attack.

The woman, who has not been identified, made the claim in an anonymous post on parenting forum Mumsnet on Wednesday.

She did not name her husband but described him as a 'low profile' politician of whom most users have 'probably never heard'.

Using the username 'LongWeek', she wrote how 'an email threatening to kill MPs and their children was sent to lots of MPs' on the same day Rees-Mogg and his children were subject to a foul-mouthed tirade on the steps of their Westminster home.

There is no suggestion that the people involved with the Rees Mogg protest had anything to do with the threatening emails or intimidating behaviour described.

MailOnline has approached the House of Commons for comment on the email claim.

The Mumsnet user admitted threats against her own family left her fearful to be at home alone with her children and revealed they had taken extra security measures including installing a fire-bomb proof letter box, CCTV cameras and panic buttons.

The woman, who has 'primary school-aged children', was writing on a thread dedicated to the attack on Rees-Mogg on Tuesday.

Jobless anarchist Ian Bone confronted the Rees-Mogg family outside their home and told Rees-Mogg's children that their father was 'hated' and a 'totally horrible person'.

Mumsnet user Blinkingblimey wrote: 'Not a fan of Rees-Mogg but no child should EVER be targeted so horribly anywhere, let alone on their doorstep. I am just so shocked that anyone thinks this is ok.'

The vast majority of parents agreed that it was an 'appalling' and 'shocking' move to target politicians' children, no matter what they felt about the policies.

User LongWeek later revealed that politicians are 'targeted at home quite a lot' and that what set this incident apart was that it was caught on camera.

She revealed she does not allow her children to 'answer the phone, or answer the door' and that all visitors are checked via CCTV cameras before being allowed inside.

The mother told how she explained the potential threats to her children by telling them 'what happened to Jo Cox,' who died after being shot and stabbed multiple times in a politically-motivated attack in June 2016.

She added: 'I’m alone at home with the kids during the week. It can get scary. Other MPs wives have had people hammering on the door shouting abuse in the middle of the night.'

The Mumsnet user also made the shocking revelation that other, more high-profile MPs had their children's bedroom doors reinforced to protect them in case of an intruder.

The post was met with support by fellow parents, with one writing: 'That sounds absolutely awful. I'm so sorry, please stay safe.'

Another wrote: 'It is scary enough looking after someone else’s children when there’s a potential threat. I can’t imagine how difficult it is.'

Other parents argued the attack could be justified. Others claimed Rees-Mogg should have done more to remove his children from the situation

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
