«Breaking News» Two teens dead others hurt in crush at St Patrick's Day disco in Northern Ireland

Two teenagers were killed and several others hurt last night in a crushing incident at a Northern Irish hotel hosting a St Patrick's Day youth disco.

One of those killed in the incident in Cookstown, County Tyrone, was said to be a boy of 18, and one of the injured youngsters was critically ill early today.

Amid confusing scenes, police said the exact cause of the incident was unclear, however they had received reports of a 'crush'. Other witnesses denied one had taken place.

Onlookers told of scenes of panic as members of the public attempted to resuscitate youngsters outside the Greenvale Hotel.

And local councillor Trevor Wilson said he had been phoned from the scene by an eyewitness. He told the Belfast Telegraph: 'There seems to have been a stampede.'

Four people were taken to hospital, including the victims who died. As well as the critically ill victim, one other youth was in a stable condition.

A police statement said: 'We can confirm there are two fatalities and two people are being treated in hospital. One is critical and one is in a stable condition.

'Family members of all four people have been informed. Our thoughts are with everyone involved. The police investigation is continuing.'

Earlier in the night, Assistant Chief Constable Mark Hamilton said there were 'a small number of other casualties' in addition to the two fatalities.

'At this stage the cause of the incident is unknown, however police have commenced a full investigation into the circumstances,' he said.

'While the exact cause of the incident is still unknown, there are reports of a crush at the scene.'

However, in a confusing scene, other witnesses denied there had been a 'crush' with the venue's DJ claiming a 'number of young people had become seriously ill', the BBC reported.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
