The lawyer who negotiated Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal's hush money payments from President Trump and Michael Cohen has told how Cohen thought he would become Attorney General in return and was furious not to be given a White House job.
Keith Davidson represented Daniels and McDougal in 2016 and was working for them when Cohen paid them $130,000 each to stay quiet about their claims they had slept with President Trump.
Both women have since distanced themselves from him and say he was working in the best interests of the then-candidate to silence them.
In an interview on Good Morning America on Monday, Davidson said he became like a 'confidante' to Cohen during the negotiation process.
Keith Davidson (left) the lawyer who represented Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal when negotiating their hush payments from Michael Cohen in 2016, said on Monday that Cohen (right testifying before Congress last month) was furious when he did not get a job in Washington DC
He also dismissed the lawyer's claims that he was not motivated by a potential job in Washington and said he was furious when he did not get one.
'He confided in me that he was beside himself. In his words, he said "can you f*****g believe it? I just can't f*****g believe it. Can you f*****g believe that after everything I've done for him, he's not taking me to Washington?"
'He thought it was a personal embarrassment. He felt rejected,' Davidson said.
He said the settlement and accompanying non-disclosure agreement was supposed to be 'the easiest deal in the history of man' and that it was prompted by the release of the infamous Access Hollywood tape where Trump was recorded saying 'grab them by the p***y'.
'The Access Hollywood tape was the motivating factor in this case and it defeats the argument that this was done for purely personal reason and that this was in fact done for political reasons because after the Access Hollywood tape, something like this could be the straw that broke the camel's back,' he said.
Daniels' alleged affair with the president had been briefly reported years earlier but it was not major news.
Cohen paid the women $130,000 each and used a home equity line of credit to do it. He was furious, according to Davidson, that Trump did not immediately repay him.
'He did, you know, confide in me and said "can you f*****g believe it. That son of a b***h never paid me back,"" Davidson said.
Davidson worked on behalf of Stormy Daniels (left with Trump in 2006) and Karen McDougal (right with Trump in the same year) to negotiate payments and non-disclosure agreements to silence their claims about having sex with Trump
Davidson said that payments were prompted by the release of a 2005 Access Hollywood tape where Trump was heard saying he could 'grab' women 'by the p***y'. Davidson said that if the affairs had come out after that, they would have been the 'straw that broke the camel's back'
By the time Trump did pay him back, he claims, he had been elected.
Davidson said he had 'no idea' if he would have been elected if the hush payments had never have been made.
He admitted that it kept him up at night 'a bit' knowing that his involvement in them may have impacted the country's history.
Cohen testified before Congress last month that he did not want to go to Washington to work for Trump but said he was motivated by blind loyalty to him after years of working on his behalf.
In May, he will go to prison for three years for tax fraud and lying charges.
Trump maintains that he never slept with either McDougal or Daniels and that anything Cohen did, he acted on his own.
He and his sons say he is now speaking out against him because he is bitter that he was not brought into the fold once they had moved into the White House.
At the time of the alleged affairs, the president had been married to the First Lady for around a year and she had not long given birth to their son, Barron.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
