«Breaking News» Rudy Giuliani claims he is staying off TV because Mueller report is 'imminent'

Rudy Giuliani, a personal attorney to President Donald Trump, claims he has not been on television in almost two months because he thought special counsel Robert Mueller's report was 'imminent' and not because the president was upset with his repeated gaffes.

'About a month to a month and a half ago we decided, because we thought the Mueller report was imminent in the next four or five days, that it would be better not to comment until the report was filed or made public,' Giuliani told Axios of his absence on various news programs.

'Obviously those days have now expanded way beyond four or five days,' he added.

The former Mayor of New York City is one of the president's most prominent public defenders.

He was last seen on television defending the president on Sunday, January 20th, when he appeared on NBC's 'Meet the Press' and CNN's 'State of the Union.'

He did make a short appearance on March 8 hit on the streaming channel of The Hill newspaper.

But it was his unimpressive performance on the January 20th Sunday show circuit that enraged Trump allies and officials within the administration.

DailyMail.com reported at the time that Giuliani's media blitz, which was filled with a dizzying array of misstatements and hurried clarifications, agitated President Trump and some of his allies, who then raised the possibility that the outspoken presidential lawyer should be sidelined from televised interviews – at least temporarily.

'Every time he opens his mouth on TV it's like 'Cleanup on aisle Giuliani!'' a White House official told DailyMail.com on Wednesday.

Giuliani told Axios has spent hours with the president in the last month and hasn't heard any complaints about his TV appearances from him.

A former federal prosecutor, Giuliani has been the point person on defending the president from any allegations tied to the Russian investigation into the 2016 election and to undermine anything that may come out of the special counsel's investigation.

But, in his Jan. 20 'Meet the Press' appearance, Giuliani dramatically altered the timeline regarding discussions about a Trump Tower in Moscow, now asserting they stretched until November 2016.

That statement, which suggested that the Trump Organization was engaged in business dealings with Russia up to and beyond the election, ignited a firestorm and then an abrupt walk-back from Giuliani.

He issued a statement the next day saying his comments about the project 'were hypothetical and not based on conversations I had with the President. My comments did not represent the actual timing or circumstances of any such discussions.'

Reports at the time indicated the president was angry with Giuliani for the goof and that some aides were worried the former mayor was going on television after drinking.

Giuliani has previously insisted he does not have an issue with alcohol, denying to Politico last May that it affected his interviews. He added: 'I may have a drink for dinner. I like to drink with cigars.'

‘About a ...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
