R. Kelly's ex-wife says he continued to control her after divorce by cutting off her child support.
The besieged R&B singer is currently in jail after he said he could not afford to pay $161,000 in back child support he owes.
R. Kelly who has three children with Drea Kelly, is accused of failing to pay his ex after she spoke out in June of last year about abuse she had suffered at his hands.
A source close to Drea told TMZ that payments for his children completely halted after her interview.
R. Kelly paid her late, skipped payments and sometimes paid her in full - but the uncertainty he gave her was a form of control.
The singer recently decried how Drea was 'destroying' his name in an explosive CBS interview. Drea's representatives say this is nonsense.

CBS This Morning aired the second installment of its wild interview with R. Kelly who raged and cried as he was questioned by Gayle King.
In the TV interview aired on Thursday, Kelly asks: 'How can I pay child support if my ex-wife is destroying my name and I can't work?'
Kelly shouted and cried about his financial situation and his relationship with his three children.
He said his wife was lying when she alleged he had abused her. Kelly says he has 'zero' relationship with his children, but says he knows they love him.
Kelly also claimed other people have rifled his bank account.

The singer was taken into custody during a hearing over the child support on Wednesday. His next hearing is scheduled for next Wednesday.
His publicist Darryll Johnson said the singer came to the hearing prepared to pay 50,000 to 60,000 US dollars (£38,000-£45,000), but the judge wanted the whole amount.
He said Kelly did not have the whole amount because he has not been able to work.
Kelly was charged last month with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse involving four women, including three who were underage at the time the abuse is alleged to have occurred.
He spent a weekend in jail before someone posted his $100,000 bail, and his defense lawyer said at the time that Kelly's finances were 'a mess'.
Kelly has denied any wrongdoing and says his accusers are lying.
The CBS interview, which was recorded earlier this week, marked the first time Kelly has spoken publicly since his arrest last month in the sexual abuse case.
Kelly whispered, cried and ranted while pleading with viewers to believe that he had never had sex with anyone under the age of 17 and never held anyone against their will.

Kelly's emotions swung wildly as he claimed he was simply someone with a 'big heart' who was betrayed by liars who hoped to cash in.
In a particularly dramatic moment, he angrily stood up and started pacing, his voice breaking as he yelled: 'I didn't do this stuff, this is not me.'
He cried as he hit his hands together, saying, 'I'm fighting for my… life.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
