«Breaking News» No police action against couple who ran a beach park where girl, three, died

The couple who ran the beach play-park where a toddler died last summer today heard they would face no further police action.

Ava-May Littleboy was propelled 20ft into the air before crashing onto the sand in front of her horrified mother on the packed beach in Gorleston, Norfolk.

A lifeguard and paramedics batted in vain to revive the youngster after the horrific accident at 11am on July 1, but she went into cardiac arrest and died later in hospital.

A man and a woman, both in their 40s and from the Great Yarmouth area, were arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter but today heard they would face no further action. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 18 years.

The couple who ran the trampoline park could still face prosecution by the local council under health and safety laws. They have not been named.

The local businessman who owns the beach site where the tragedy happened, Curt Johnson, 47, today spoke of his relief that the criminal charges investigation had been dropped.

'I am relieved but I have been told by my solicitor not to make any comment at all,' he told MailOnline.

It is thought hot weather could have caused the inflatable to pop as temperatures reached up to 29 degrees celsius.

Norfolk Police said in a statement: 'Following extensive inquiries and consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, a decision has been made not to proceed with any manslaughter offences against any individual or company.

'Detectives from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team will now liaise with the coroner in respect of the inquest and support Great Yarmouth Borough Council, which will review the evidence with a view to prosecuting under health and safety legislation.'

Police said witnesses to the incident reported hearing a 'loud bang' before the inflatable 'apparently burst'.

A post-mortem examination recorded that Ava-May died of a head injury, although no inquest has yet taken place.

In a tribute issued through police, Ava-May's family said: 'Her infectious laugh and smile could light up even the darkest of rooms.'

Chloe was thought to have paid £2 for her daughter to have five minutes of bouncing fun.

Holidaymakers have told how the trampoline seemed to 'explode' with a loud bang as air gushed out of it, catapulting the youngster into the air.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
