Made In Chelsea star Melissa Tattam has attempted to defend herself amid criticism for labelling size 10 bikinis in her swimwear collection 'large'.
The reality TV personality, 22, has come under fire for the 'offensive' sizing in her Melissajay range, but stood by her decision during an appearance on Wednesday's edition of the Heart Breakfast Show.
While the average woman in the UK wears a size 16, the aspiring designer insisted she is 'very small' and wants to 'cater to petite women' with her collection because 'lots of brands' carry larger sizes.

The TV personality told hosts Lucy Horobin and Jamie Theakston when asked about the criticism: 'The sizing? It's just the way that I did it.
'I started off the range as a petite range because I'm a very small and I wanted to cater to that. There are lots of other brands that cater to larger sizes.'
During her appearance, presenter Lucy quizzed the reality star on the effect of her labelling on younger children, saying: 'Can you see how people would look at that and maybe feel offended or be bigger than they are? I would say 8-10 is a small.'
The brunette was defiant as she responded: 'To me, a size 4-6 is an extra small, do you know what I mean? I was a very small company to start with so I couldn't make a lot of sizes.'

Taking the host's comments into consideration, Melissa added: 'I definitely will change the sizing in the future, but it's a small company, so I couldn't make a huge amount of sizes.'
She frequently promotes her swimwear line on her widely-followed Instagram account, with the pieces, which retail at £160, often worn by co-stars Sophie Habboo and Emily Blackwell.
Melissa has been in a relationship with co-star Harry Baron, 24, since November 2017, and she was accompanied to her controversial radio interview by her boyfriend.

Just months into their romance, the pair discussed marriage in an interview with OK!.
Reality star Harry shared: ‘Melissa has sent me a photo of the engagement ring she wants – it’s £150,000. I’ll have to remortgage my life! Although she jokes, there’s a serious element to it.’
‘Harry is the easiest person and I’m quite difficult. I couldn’t date myself! He’s hilarious too – I’m constantly in stitches,' Melissa gushed about the one-time Lothario.

The pair were introduced by a mutual friend and went on their first date in November last year.
By December 2017 they were officially a couple – and in May last year Harry moved into Melissa’s Chelsea flat.
'This is the first relationship I’ve had where we completely get each other,' Harry gushed.
A bit fast? Just months into their romance, the pair discussed marriage in a previous interview with OK!
The hunk first bowled into Chelsea in spring 2017, appearing then in the summer season in Ibiza, stirring up trouble between Jamie Laing and Frankie Gaff, and upsetting Emily, whom he was seeing at the time.
But Harry insists he's not the Casanova people presume he is.
‘Everyone thinks I was hooking up with girls left, right and centre, but it wasn’t like that. I’m actually a relationship person,' he said.
Melissa added: ‘He had a serious two-year relationship before. People seem to think he’s been single his whole life.’

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
