«Breaking News» Loose Women's Jane Moore and Kaye Adams erupt into an on-air spat about childhood obesity

Loose Women's Jane Moore and Kaye Adams erupted into a furious on-air spat about childhood obesity on Friday's show.   

The debate got so heated that anchor Andrea McLean was forced to step in and stop the warring pair as they locked horns. 

The drama began as the panel, which also included X Factor singer Brenda Edwards, discussed whether obesity in children was the fault of parents.

Kaye, 56, argued that it was harder for mums to feed their kids healthy and nutritious meals, saying: 'I don't think it's helpful to blame parents, as a parent myself I do find it difficult.

'We are surrounded with unhealthy options, rubbish food is cheaper.'

Jane, 56, counter-argued that it was irresponsible for adults to allow their children to become obese, and said that Kaye had suggested that people were 'stupid for not knowing that a burger was not good for your health.'

Kaye automatically went on the defence, shouting 'no!' at her co-star and saying: 'I never suggested that anyone was stupid and I really take offence to that Jane.'

As she continued her rant, Jane spoke over her to argue back, with Kaye clearly annoyed by her actions. 

Host Andrea, 49, had to reprimand Jane for not allowing Kaye to finish her point, with the two then continuing the heated argument.

Things finally came to a head as Andrea was once again forced to step in, attempting to diffuse the situation by announcing the results of their poll, which revealed that 91 per cent of viewers believed that parents were to blame. 

However, even Andrea herself got into a minor altercation with the pair as she was interrupted whilst trying to read the poll results.

She snapped: ‘For the love of God would you let all of us get to the end of a sentence. 

‘We are mature people who know how to get to the end of a sentence. Please let me do so!'

Despite things getting tense in the studio, fans at home were loving the action, with many rushing to Twitter to comment on the debate.   

One viewer said: Fight fight fight fight!!!! I do like a passionate debate....totally with @janem here...and I'm obese myself! My own fault....it's a parents fault if a 4 year old is obese....end of! #LooseWomen.'

Another remarked: 'Kaye lives in the real world!!! Fight fight fight fight #LooseWomen.'

'Omg what the...... never saw a debate like that ever on @loosewomen EVER or should I saw argument haha Well done @andrea_mclean @kayeadams #Shook #fireworks #loosewomen,' wrote a third fan.

With a fourth watcher adding: '#LooseWomen definitely an atmosphere today. Awkward.'

Loose Women continues weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
