Katie Couric loves her future son-in-law, but she still plans to be a nightmare of a mother-in-law.
The 62-year-old news anchor was on Today this morning and discussed her 27-year-old daughter Ellie Monahan's recent engagement to her new fiancé, Mark Dobrosky.
'I'm going to be a monster-in-law!' she joked.

It seems unlikely that Couric will actually give her daughter's future husband a hard time, particularly because she's already such a fan of his.
'We love him and most importantly, she loves him and he loves her,' she said. 'I'm so excited, and she's so happy. She's going to be a beautiful bride.'
Couric was back on Today this morning for national Colon Cancer Awareness Month, and talked about early detention screening for colon cancer
Her first husband, Jay Monahan, died of colon cancer in 1998 when he was just 42. She said it was 'unfair' that he didn't to watch his girls grow up 'and see the magnificent people they’ve become.'
'I think he would be so proud of them,' she said.
'We love him and most importantly, she loves him and he loves her,' Katie said. 'I'm so excited, and she's so happy. She's going to be a beautiful bride'

Katie first took to Instagram in early February to reveal her daughter's engagement, sharing a photo of the young woman cuddling up to her fiancé. She also posted another image of her eldest child posing with her hands over her mouth in shock.
In both of the snapshots, Ellie is wearing the elegant engagement ring that Katie received from her late husband Jay Monahan in the 1980s.

Katie and Jay wed in 1989 and had two daughters, Ellie and Caroline, 23. She has spoken openly about his premature death.
'I had never had something horrible happen to me before. Jay used to say I was born on a sunny day, and suddenly I wasn't,' Katie told People in May 2018, months after the 20th anniversary of Jay's death.
'Like the cliches say, it made me appreciate things. It made me understand how important it is to say things in the here and now and not wait,' she added.

'I think he would be so proud of them,' she said of her late husband
'When someone is important to you or means something to you, you need to tell them and not wait.'
The news anchor married John Molner on June 21, 2014, and she opened up about her new husband in a 2017 Time essay about what she has learned following Jay's death.
'I now have a new husband, a wonderful person I adore, who is warm and wise and so funny,' she wrote.
'He’s different from Jay, but I think Jay would approve. I think they would have been friends. His greatest gift has been allowing me to love them both.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
