Jenny McCarthy has opened up about how 'miserable' she was during her short time on The View as the show's 11th co-host.
As part of an excerpt from the upcoming book Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of 'The View', McCarthy spilled the beans to author Ramin Setoodeh about how Barbara Walters constantly yelled at her.
In the excerpt, which was published by Vulture on Wednesday, McCarthy explained: 'Imagine a woman like Barbara Walters.
'It's her last year and she doesn't want to leave. Think about that. And I'm the new b***h there.'
Walters retired as The View co-host in 2014 after 16 seasons.
McCarthy claims that Walters, who was 83 at the time, still had good energy but she had complicated emotions as she grappled with the idea she'd be forgotten.

On one episode, McCarthy recalled that she was talking about Katy Perry dating John Mayer when she saw 'Barbara’s face with her big saucer eyes look at me'. 'Then we went to a commercial. She said, "Who is it that you’re talking about and why are you bringing her up?'"

Within a matter of days, McCarthy said she was told that she would no longer be able to do pop culture because Walters didn't know who the people were. McCarthy was instructed to talk about politics (Hillary Clinton pictured) instead, which she says she knew nothing about

'I’m, like, "That’s Katy Perry. You interviewed her last week!"'

McCarthy was instructed to talk about politics instead, which she says she knew nothing about.
'I panicked because I don’t consider myself a political person,' McCarthy told Setoodeh.
'My controversy is in vaccines. I know I’m not talking about that every day. Now I had to figure out, "Am I coming out as a Republican or a Democrat? Where do I stand on all the social issues and political issues?"'
And that's not to mention, there was the tampon incident.
McCarthy claimed that Walters had came to her dressing room visibly upset about something she had seen in the bathroom.
'Jenny, there’s a tampon floating in the toilet and it’s disgusting,' Walters reportedly said.
'I don’t have my period. It’s not mine,' McCarthy responded.
'Do something about it!' Walters yelled, according to McCarthy, who said she eventually went into the bathroom and flushed the tampon.
'Finally I said, "I’ll take care of it. I’ll take one for the team and I’ll flush it."'
McCarthy said there were at least 50 times when Walters would even ask her to change her clothes before they went on air.
'Barbara would check out what I was wearing. If she didn’t agree with it, or it didn’t complement her outfit, I had to change,' McCarthy recalled.
'Mind you, she doesn’t look at anyone’s clothes but mine,' Jenny said. 'I’d go, "Barbara, you’re wearing your own clothes."'

McCarthy said she not only had problems with Walters, but Whoopi Goldberg didn't warm to her either

Eventually, she aligned with Sherri Shepherd, which left Walters and Goldberg to battle it out
Walters also 'wanted to start dressing' like her co-host and would ask her to change as she ordered others to 'run out and get that dress in her size', according to McCarthy.
'I was a human Barbie doll,' McCarthy said.
Jenny’s outfits were pulled by a stylist. She’d try to remind Barbara, “Stores right now have the spring collection. There’s nothing I can do.’”
McCarthy said she not only had problems with Walters, but Whoopi Goldberg didn't warm to her either.
'The table is an interesting dynamic because it reminds me a little bit of Survivor. There were allies, and there weren’t many people to choose from,' McCarthy recalled.
'Do I side with Barbara, who is royalty, but she’s leaving? Or do I take Whoopi, who is a force to be reckoned with?' McCarthy found herself pondering.
Eventually, she aligned with Sherri Shepherd, which left Walters and Goldberg to battle it out.
'There was a war between Barbara and Whoopi about Barbara wanting to moderate,' Jenny McCarthy said.
'This is one of the reasons I decided not to ally with Whoopi,' the host said.
'It broke my heart when Barbara would shuffle to Whoopi and say, "Can I moderate, please?" And Whoopi would say no. How can you do this to a woman who paved the way for so many female journalists? The reason we’re doing this job is because of Barbara Walters,' McCarthy told Setoodeh.
After her contract was up, McCarthy left the show and made it clear that she left because she didn't feel like she fit in.
'Every day I went home and I was miserable,' McCarthy said.
'It really was the most miserable I’ve been on a job in my 25 years of show business,' she added.
Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of 'The View' will be released on April 2.
McCarthy currently hosts The Masked Singer, which recently closed out its first season on FOX.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
