«Breaking News» Jacob Rees-Mogg condemns 'rotten' deal that fails to end '47 years of penal servitude'

Jacob Rees-Mogg condemned the 'rotten' Brexit deal today as Eurosceptics vowed to vote down the 'unchanged' plans for a second time on Tuesday. 

The ringleader of Tory Brexiteers said the divorce deal as drafted fails to end '47 years of penal servitude' while the Irish border backstop could last forever. 

Mr Rees-Mogg said delaying Brexit for a 'few months' would be 'tolerable' but only if Britain escaped the EU's rules afterwards.

His warning comes as his deputy Steve Baker and DUP Westminster leader Nigel Dodds said the PM faces an 'inevitable' second defeat because the deal is 'unchanged'. 

Mrs May will test her deal for a second time on Tuesday night. She lost by 230 votes on January 15. 

If it is defeated again, MPs will vote on whether to accept no deal on Wednesday and then whether to delay Brexit on Thursday.

Writing in the Sunday Express, Mr Rees-Mogg said: 'The Withdrawal Agreement is a rotten accord.

'It condemns the United Kingdom to at least 21 months of vassalage at a cost of £39billion, yet everything other than the backstop has an expiry date - after a certain point the nation's freedom and control would be restored.

'After 47 years of penal servitude a final few months is tolerable. However, the backstop could last forever and would tie this country's hands in terms of regulations, customs and the rulings of the European Court of Justice in these areas without a formal ability to leave.

'Although fewer areas of British life would be affected than is currently the case, in these departments there would be even less control than there is now.

'There would also be the absurdity of replacing a treaty that can be revoked with two years' notice with one that is perpetual.' 

Mr Baker and Mr Dodds wrote in the Sunday Telegraph today another defeat as 'inevitable' and Britain should now leave on time with no deal.

The pair want Mrs May to pursue the second part of their so-called 'Malthouse Compromise' that says Britain should ask the EU for a three-year transition period on current terms in exchange for billions of pounds but axe the rest of the deal. 

They said: 'It is inevitable that this unchanged Withdrawal Agreement will be voted down again.

'The union of the UK is too precious to put at risk and Eurosceptics do not trust the EU to regulate our economy in the backstop.

'If the Government and parliamentarians want to avoid overthrowing the referendum result and threatening faith in democracy, if they want to avoid the political chaos of a purposeless extension, it is time for them to embrace Malthouse compromise Plan B and leave on March 29, offering all sides the three safety nets of our basic transition agreement.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
