«Breaking News» Homemade candle explodes with boiling wax after man attempts to stop out-of-control flame with water

This is the moment a man instantly regrets pouring water onto a candle that explodes in a huge ball of fire.

Jeremy Alexander from Mississippi had the fright of his life when his son's homemade 'wax melter' gave out a bit more than just a nice scent.

Incredible footage shows the device, made from a beer can, bursting into a ball of flames as it reacts angrily to having water poured on it.

Rather than figure out the correct way to extinguish his candle, Mr Alexander decided to take the classic 'pour water on it and see what happens' route.

'My son had made a new candle warmer with an old beer can cut in half, we put the wax melt in it put the eye down low so it would make your house smell good,' said Mr Alexander, who lives near the Gulf Coast.

'We used it for about a month or so, and I guess the can had finally got to where you couldn't use it anymore.

'The wax had finally built up on the inside and caught fire. I was sitting in the recliner when it turned into a flame.'

A well-known remedy to extinguishing a wax fire is to use baking soda, as water instantly evaporates.

'I went to blow it out and the flames picked up a little so I just thought I'd put some water on it, I wasn't thinking about putting sugar or flour on it,' continued Mr Alexander.

The ensuing reaction created a huge fireball that covered the cooker, and boiling hot wax was flung out of the small can.

Seconds later Mr Alexander in what most people would believe to be complete agony.

However, it was actually his reaction to seeing the flames on his wooden cabinet, as he believed his house had been set on fire.

'I put water on it and it blew up and it set my cabinets on fire briefly, that's why I screamed I thought my house was going up in flames.'

As Mr Alexander clams himself his daughter can be heard laughing hysterically in the background.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
