«Breaking News» Dido's enthusiastic drummer steals the show on Jonathan Ross as fans mock him for 'playing like mad'

She is making her musical comeback with her new album Still On My Mind, after a 15 year hiatus. 

And while Dido wowed with her striking vocals as she performed her single Give You Up on Jonathan Ross on Sunday night, it was her drummer who stole the show. 

Viewers took to Twitter to mock the 47-year-old's drummer enthusiastically playing the instrument 'like mad' as they listened in,  but claimed there were 'no drums to be heard' on the backing track.

One fan of the show wrote on Twitter: 'Why is there a drummer playing like mad on this Dido song but there's no drums to be heard?'

Another added: 'What was the point of the drummer and guitarist being there during Dido's performance on the Jonathan Ross show?' 

Meanwhile other viewers were shocked by the songstress' youthful appearance, saying she hasn't aged a day since her music heyday back in the early 2000's.

The Life For Rent hitmaker became a pop sensation after selling 40 million records, singing with Eminem and dominating the Brits between 2002 and 2004. 

And while she didn’t vanish completely, like country star Bobbie Gentry in 1981, she’s kept her head down since she stopped touring 15 years ago.

The star will now be embarking on her first world tour in 15 years, after revealing her previous two albums did not seem to fit with the live shows.  

Explaining why she had taken a break from releasing music, Dido previously admitted she struggled to write good songs after welcoming her first child Stanley with husband Rohan in 2011.

Married and now a mum, Dido celebrates her good fortune on the title track. 

But it’s not all sweetness and light: she hints at past unhappiness on Walking By and takes creative licence to admit to an illicit one-night-stand on Latin dance number Hell After This. 

She explained on BBC Radio 2 last month: 'After I had my son Stanley I definitely have a couple of years where most what I wrote wasn't very good.

'I actually knew it at the time, when I write songs there's always a bit conflicted, but then when I had a kid I thought ''I'm quite happy.''

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
