A group of powerful Democrats is calling on the FBI to provide an assessment of any 'counterintelligence risks' posed by a former Chinese-born day spa owner's interactions with President Trump, following revelations about potential straw donations.
The leading Democrats on the House and Senate Judiciary and Intelligence Panels wrote the heads of the FBI, Director of National Intelligence, and Secret Service following revelations about Li Yang.
Yang previously owned the Orchids of Asia day spa where New England Patriots owner Bob Kraft was arrested for soliciting prostitution, and also founded GY US investments, a firm that marketed to a Chinese clientele and offered the 'opportunity to interact' with the president.
Li Yang, also known as Cindy Yang, 45, is the founder of the chain of day spas in South Florida where Robert Kraft was busted for soliciting prostitution. Powerful Democratic lawmakers are demanding the FBI reveal potential 'counterintelligence concerns' by her fundraising efforts to benefit President Trump
The lawmakers are asking FBI Director Christopher Wray to 'conduct criminal and counterintelligence investigations into credible allegations of potential human trafficking, as well as unlawful foreign lobying, campaign finance and other activities by Ms. Yang.'
We also ask that teh Bureau furnish to the intelligence and judiciary committees an assessment of any counterintelligence risks or related concerns associated with any interactions with President Donald Trump and Ms. Yang.'
Yang has been photographed with Trump at a fundraiser. She also has been a guest at Mar-a-Lago, the president's Florida club, and has been photographed with numerous Trump family members and associates.
The New York Times on Sunday revealed several people close to Yang who gave $5,400 contributions around the time of a Republican National Committee fundraiser for Trump.
Adam Schiff, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, is among the Democrats who signed onto the letter
President Trump has spoken repeatedly about the threat posed by China
Democratic lawmakers are demanding information about any counterintelligence risks posed by Li Yang's fundraising activities
They seek an accounting of Yang associate's meetings with Trump and senior officials at the White House and Mar-a-Lago
Four powerful Democrats signed onto the letter
One woman who did so, a 25-year old who provides facials at a beauty school near Palm Beach Gardens, told the paper Yang helped her fill out the check.
The quartet of lawmakers asked a series of questions that could put the recipients – Wray, DNI Dan Coats, and Secret Service Director Randolph Alles – in uncomfortable territory.
The men are asked to report on whether they were aware of Yang's or associates' ties to 'illicit business enterprises.'
Signing onto the letter were House Intelligence chair Adam Schiff, Senate vice chair Sen. Mark Warner, House Judiciary Chair Jerold Nadler, and Senate ranking Democrat Dianne Feinstein.
Yang, 45, is a frequent guest at Mar-a-Lago and has also visited The White House (as seen in the undated file photo above) and Trump Tower multiple times since President Trump took office
Orchids of Asia Day Spa founder Li Yang, 45, (seen in foreground with President Trump and a guest at Mar-a-Lago in February) brought a group of wealthy Chinese business people to a New York City campaign fundraiser in December 2017, it has been reported
Yang’s consulting business, GY US Investments, promoted events at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s estate in Palm Beach, Florida. Investors were led to believe they would have access to Trump’s inner circle. This flier promotes another event with Trump's sister

Sen. Dianne Feinstein and Rep. Jerold Nadler, the top Democrats on their respective Judiciary panels, each signed onto the letter
Sen. Mark Warner of Virginia
'Since the recent revelations about Ms. Yang's business and her interactions with the President, has the FBI taken any steps to investigate potential violations of law or nation security vulnerabilities,' they ask.
Another asks about any counterintelligence risks by her activities. Another seeks an accounting of Yang's and associated people's interactions with Trump and senior officials at the White House or Mar-a-Lago.
The lawmakers also ask about the guest list for Trump's 2019 Super Bowl party.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
