«Breaking News» Conrad Sewell reveals how he got fit for his Men's Health magazine shoot

He previously admitted that his battle with drugs and alcohol once took him to places that were 'pretty dark'.

But Conrad Sewell has since been on the mend, and even got fit and muscular for his recent Men's Health magazine shoot.

But the 39-year-old rocker says it was no picnic getting his body ready, telling The Project on Monday night that he lived off celery to get his buff figure.

'I was working out a lot. Doing two [workouts] a day. Eating boring food. And not really living. It's not fun to get that big!' he told the show's hosts.

Conrad had only two weeks to get ready at an inopportune time, he admitted to the panel.

'You know what sucks, it was just after Christmas. We'd been home and I'd been eating.

'We got the call that I had Men's Health in two weeks. I pretty much ate celery those two weeks,' he said with a rueful laugh.

The Australian singer added that he had a secret weapon for making his muscles look good, quipping: 'Baby oil, [shoot in] black and white, they're ready to go'.

It's been a turnaround for Conrad, who has revealed in the past that he realised he wasn't going to 'last long' if he kept up his hedonistic lifestyle.

While he hasn't given up alcohol altogether, he said he now avoids 'four-day benders' he told old The Sunday Telegraph last year.

The Healing Hands singer, who is single, recently said he was on the lookout for a 'nice Australian girl to marry.'

The Brisbane-born popstar, who is now based in Los Angeles for his music career, told the Courier Mail that he'd happily move home if he met the right person.

'I was sitting at Bondi the other day and I was saying I will end up in Australia, but it depends who I marry and who knows,' he told the publication.

The blonde hitmaker previously dated Australian social media star, Alli Simpson.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
