«Breaking News» Cindy Crawford discusses nude Playboy shoots, Kaia and nepotism

Cindy Crawford has revealed she has no regrets over posing nude for Playboy, as she hits back at claims her teen daughter Kaia's success is down to nepotism.

The 53-year-old supermodel and mother-of-two revealed she is proud of her old shoots and has posed braless under a safari-style shoot for a new shoot.

Speaking to NET-A-PORTER’s PorterEdit, she said: 'I look back at some of my old Playboy pictures and I think, "Why wasn’t I walking around naked all the time?"

'I’m not getting younger. So I want to celebrate who I am today.'

Cindy posed for two Playboy spreads (from 1988 and 1998), which saw her pose naked for legendary photographer Herb Ritts.

She has enjoyed a 30-year career in the industry and Cindy is happily married to her husband of 21-years Rande Gerber and they are parents to Kaia, 17 and Presley, 21.

Cindy says that while her fame has surely given Kaia 'some advantages,' it hasn't opened as many doors as people might think.

She noted: 'Kaia had some advantages. She is my daughter and people know that.

'But when people say that I bought her a cover of a magazine, I think, if I was going to buy a cover for someone, it would be me!

'If I could get someone into a fashion show, I would be getting it for myself.'

She also said: 'It was a good thing that she couldn’t work on the runway until she was 16. There are laws about that. After that I couldn’t really hold her back.

'You hope that all of the advice and guidance and role modeling that you did sticks. That’s the stage of parenting when you think, "Ok, hope you can fly!"'

But Cindy said she's a real overprotective mother when it comes to people attacking her children on social media.

'I can’t believe how hateful people can be. As much as people put garbage on my Instagram, it doesn’t bother me. But when they do it to my kids I think, grrr.

'But you’re not supposed to go after [the haters]. It’s shocking.'

Cindy always believed her own career would only ever last five years.

She said one thing she doesn't enjoy about the industry these days is the rise of social media and how it is now considered to be part of the job.

She said: ' We weren’t constantly being photographed in what we were wearing to the show.

'There is more pressure to produce content every day. It’s like a hungry little beast, an animal that wants more and more.'

But she does believe there have been some positive changes in recent years.

She said: 'I do see [fashion] becoming more inclusive and it makes sense. I think, "What took us so long?’ Women of all ages, sizes, colors, backgrounds and jobs are buying clothes. We have to show them: "You can wear this, too".

'I know that I’ve gone to stores where I’m a large. I’m the largest size in the store! Especially here in L.A. A lot of designers don’t make anything larger than a 42 or a 44.

'There’s a lot to be done in that area and not just throw in a token larger woman, or a token older woman. They need to integrate it more.'

Cindy also discussed her decision to appear naked in photographer Russell James’ book, Angels and not letting her age define her.

She said: 'Part of the reason why I wanted to do it was that I thought, at what age is being naked not beautiful anymore? Is there a sell-by date on us?

'I don’t look the same as I did at 20, 30 or even 40. If we take care of ourselves, why not? Am I frolicking on the beach in a string bikini? No.

'But there is a place where I want to feel beautiful naked, in my private life, with my husband.'

Cindy reflected on her friend Karl Lagerfeld’s personality following his passing last month following a battle with pancreatic cancer aged 85.

She said: 'You can never just say "oh it was a good life," and not be sad about it, no matter how old someone is when they die.

'But Karl did have such an incredible, prolific life, and he was doing what he loved almost up until the very end.

'He didn’t take himself so seriously. Like saying, "if you buy sweatpants you’ve given up". I think it’s hilarious. People shouldn’t take it too seriously. He was eccentric.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
